UN report outlines how Hamas used kids as human shields

This is a completely false headline. Neither the article nor the UN report outlined ANY evidence of Hamas using kids as human shields. The report stipulated that Israel had attacked seven different schools being used as civilian shelters, and also that weapons caches had been discovered at three empty schools which were not being used as shelters. The IDF claimed the weapons belonged to Hamas but there is not even any evidence of this. It could just as easily have been the Israelis who put them there.

As a qualified journalist who has read the report, I can categorically testify that the news story here is the unprovoked Israeli aggression against UN civilian facilities, but since the NYP is blatantly under some kind of Israeli influence, they have concluded the story to be that finding weapons at three empty locations means Hamas have been using human shields.

There is no argument, either true or false, which justifies purposefully mass killing children. Furthermore, it is nothing short of nauseating to blame your enemy for children you yourself have killed. Psychologists call this abuser ideology. It is when psychopaths commit heinous acts of aggression such as rape, while justifying it to themselves with excuses like, "she was asking for it with the way she was dressed". Trying to defend such absurdly barbarous and cowardly acts as bombing schools and hospitals is absurd, period, but even more so when your counterargument is that Hamas MADE you kill them. Exactly how stupid do you think people are?

This is the same UN report being touted by NYP as "outlining how Hamas used kids as human shields". As discussed, the Israelis claimed to have found munitions at three empty locations, and this is the only "evidence" being used by the NYP to support its clearly preposterous conclusion that Hamas was using human shields. It is nothing more than a simple deflection of the fact that the UN report condemned the Israelis for bombing civilian facilities. The Guardian's story continues...

Ban’s criticism was contained in the published summary letter of a confidential internal report, commissioned by the secretary general in November, running to 207 pages.

In his letter Ban also hit out at Palestinian militant groups for putting some UN schools in Gaza at risk by hiding weapons in three locations that were not being used as shelters.

“I am dismayed that Palestinian militant groups would put United Nations schools at risk by using them to hide their arms.”

He added, however, that: “The three schools at which weaponry was found were empty at the time and were not being used as shelters.”
