Respected co-learners this is my response to thread 2.2 debate OPPOSING encouragement of undergraduate students for Qualitative Research
- Undergraduate students are not having much knowledge of research. Hence, making them do qualitative research would not be easy.
- Already students are burdened with the vast syllabus, more so with the introduction of the CBME curriculum. Upon this, if the students take up qualitative research, they will be under great stress.
- Undergraduate students are yet to develop good communication skills to interact with the study subjects.
- Data collection and analysis will be difficult due to poor understanding.
- Interpretation of the results may not be appropriate.
- The mentor/guide would be expected to do most of the work to get a proper outcome of the study

• E-learning is innovative and the need of the hour, especially during the COVID times when academics are being affected for an extended period.
• Students of the present generation are well versed with the use of technology. They can handle it and are at best to utilize it for productive works such as learning.
• Even though the students are away from the institutes, they can still learn the subjects and be in touch with the teachers.,
• Teachers are also learning the technology rapidly, including our elite senior teachers, who have been accustomed to conventional teaching for decades.
• The E-learning methods foster the attitude and practice of adult learning by making the students learn independently under the teacher's guidance. If the students were not forced into this situation by the pandemic, they would be very callous about adult learning even though we have been trying to instil them into them for a long time.
• E-learning has shown the students and faculty the vast options of interactive teaching-learning methods, making it effective.
