Qualitative research is in a way a bit more complex than Quantitative research at an undergraduate level. The complexity lies mainly in the result interpretation and handling the flexibility aspect. An undergraduate as a principal PI may not be able to carryout the research on his/her own.

An undergraduate is already facing lot of challenges while adopting to CBME curriculum. Most of the students are still not getting the hold of the design of syllabus. even in their schooling they are not used to case scenarios in any subjects. And all of a sudden if they have to face such scenarios routinely, they definitely feel lost and that exactly is happening.

Most of the undergraduates get involved in research just for the sake of licensure exams if they are planning to go abroad. A handful of students are truly interested. Thus they may not carry out the research in true sense. There are chances of manipulation of data.

Thus in my opinion , Qualitative research need be started by an undergraduate when he still is a novice. They may be encouraged to take up only in their final year or internship when they would be mature enough to understand the true essence of Qualitative research.

1. 22nd century is the era of technology and technology has replaced humans in many different fields. So moving with the flow, we need to move on from traditional teaching- learning to technology driven teaching-learning.

3.E-learning involves digitalization of facts and concepts which could be more impressive than the traditional mode. Learner can understand and comprehend the concepts in a better way.

4. Complicated concepts when taught in 3D mode which is much more understandable than any other modes of understanding the concepts.

5. This modality of learning doesn't need more logistics except for Computer and internet access . Access to technology has become a norm now and operating computers are taught from kindergarten level only. So most of our undergraduates are tech savvy compared to our generation.

6. E-learning could have multiple modules of the same concept with huge data base.

7. It can reach out to huge number of people in one go.

8.Learner can visit and revisit the sites any number of times he wants without any restrictions. This would be like reinforcing the information.

9. Learning can be customized in terms of time and place as well content.

10. Information can be accessed and relay from any corner of the world. It goes beyond the barriers of traditional teaching-learning modes.
