I agree. So long as the risk is made by a competent adult acting of their own volition, and does not endanger the safety or reasonable happiness of anyone else; no restrictions are warranted.

(All under stated assumptions)

If God is aware of the state of every variable at the start of time (as we know it), and is capable of processing every equation, he would be omniscient.

.

To simplify:

.

If I ask you... What will the sum of 2x + 2 be?

If we know that x = 3, then we know what the sum will be (8).

It is only when we do not know the value of x that the equation becomes uncertain. Or "Free"

.

Therefore, in order for us to have free will, God must lack omnipotence, or just omniscience due to willful ignorance.

I will say no, but with some hesitation.

I do think the growth of technology has allowed an inflation in our sloth, but I do not consider it the cause.

Technology contains no will, other than that of its creators. And in our society, the creators will can be affected by the consumer.

It is a matter of responsibility, both personal and collective, not to become lazy in the new forms.

We should also be sure to clarify that the natural instinct not to revert back to more inefficient means is not laziness. If we did not constantly push forward in this manner, we would not be where we are.

That said, technology is the conduit through which our laziness is increased. However it is our own collective desires to be distracted, and to gather resources, that are at fault.

A lack of belief is not an assertion of disbelief. Let me elaborate...

To claim that there is no X, is logically unsupportable as an absolute. Though probable, we do not yet have sufficient data to make this declaration with certainty.

However, the same can be said of the existence of X, until empirical proof is brought forth.

Therefore, a lack of belief is the only logically supportable stance.

In terms of absolute knowledge, not much can be ascertained beyond our own existence. This is where pragmatism steps in.
