NAFTA has had a positive increase on not only US trade but also US relationships with Mexico and Canada, it has created partners not competitors. In 1993 trade was roughly at $290 billion while in 2016 it peaked $1.1 trillion. Not only have we benefited financially from NAFTA but it also provides a lot of jobs for Americans. 14 million jobs rely on trade with Canada and Mexico, 6 million depend on Mexico alone.
