There is a lot of fake ads and profiles. Most of the profiles are probably spam. People do not behave on-line as they do in person, they hide behind fake names, dishonest descriptions, altered pictures and are generally more rude.

Why not, it's cheap and quick way to meet new people with millions of people as potential romantic partners. It's easy to make a profile and check others. If you take precautions before meeting people in person there is really nothing to lose.
