Our education isn't any better than Americans... we just have to do it more. Asian kids in Japan and China get longer school years than Americans and massive summer packages (they also get a shorter summer and teacher visits) By the time they reach high school, it's like three whole extra years of teaching! Plus, teachers are really respected in Asia; they get the same honor as doctors for example. There's also the whole Confucian work ethic and bring honor to your family to consider. Although elementary, middle, and high school is better in Asia, most of the world's best colleges (75%) are in America. Why do you think Asian kids compete so hard to get international scholarships to study at an AMERICAN college? Side: Agree

It is very likely that in some Asian country's the education of its youth is better then ours but north Korea is absolutely and definitely not one of them. Its citizen have no rights or freedom. they are put in concentration camps by their government, their children are taken away from them and brainwashed to worship their depraved president like a father and god. All children with any talent are paraded around as poster children. Sure those children might be given a good education, if you think that lies, threats and propaganda is good education, but if they disobey they are killed or imprisoned like anyone els there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Morphy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sho_Yano http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ This is info on just a few child prodigies from north America. I think that the school system here is not perfect by any means but with some natural born and early nurtured(by parents) talent north American children have a vast amount of resources to draw apron. The fact is those kids are just that... prodigies. They're not exactly standard are they? And any country can have prodigies. Bill Gates was American, Einstein was German, Shakespeare was British, Napoleon was French, Nikola Tesla was Russian, etc. In the normal stages though, Asian students perform higher- as shown by international tests- where Asians ranked 7 countries in the top ten and whereas the U.S. was somewhere in the middle.
