Pd 8:

Friar is innocent because he just wanted to marry two people who were in love. For example Friar states, "...come inconsistent young man, come with me. I'll help you with your secret wedding. This marriage may be lucky enough to turn the hatred between your families into pure love" (II.iii.103). This quote proves that he has no intent to have them kill themselves. He just wanted to marry two lovers who were from different families who hated each other and thought this would end the feud.

Some may say Friar Lawrence is innocent because he just wanted to marry two people that were in love but, Friar Lawrence is guilty because he didn't think about how much it would actually cost to unite the two families.

Pd 5:

Friar is innocent because he is a man of God and looks for the best solution. For example, when Romeo wants to get married, Friar says, "This marriage may be lucky enough to turn the hatred between your two families into pure love" (II.iii.103). The Friar is innocent because as a man of God, he believes that there is hope for the family feud. He hopes that the marriage would end the feud and the families would be friends again. Therefore, he is innocent because he only wants what is best.

Some might believe friar is innocent but we believe that he is guilty because in the story friar is the one that came up with the plan and if he wouldn't have made up the plan then no one would have died and the Friar would have not been arrested at the end of the story. And In this argument, They only state about how friar was only talking about ending the family dispute. And nothing about anything else.

Priod 7:

Friar Lawrence is guilty because he married Romeo and Juliet secretly and made a bad plan that got them killed. For example, when Friar states, "I'll help you with your secret wedding. This marriage may be lucky enough to turn the hatred between your families into pure love" (II.iii.103). He married them to bring the families together which happened, but it costed the lives of many people including Romeo and Juliet.

One may say that Friar Lawrence is guilty because he secretly married Romeo & Juliet and he came up with a bad plan that got R & J killed, but Lawrence is not guilty because neither claim led to R & J's death. Lawrence marrying R & J was merely him joining two lovers in marriage. R & J already loved each other, and their marriage didn't further their love, it was merely a symptom of their love. Furthermore, Lawrence's plan did not lead to R & J's death because it wasn't his fault the plan failed. The plan did indeed have flaws, but the flaws were not his fault and there were multiple workarounds. Juliet could have suggested another plan if she came up with a better plan. Also, Lawrence was not responsible for the crucial letter not being delivered, and neither was Friar John, for that matter. He merely got stuck and was unable to deliver the letter because of being quarantined. The plan not working was not Lawrence's fault, the plan just went wrong for separate reason that couldn't be controlled. An action could have been taken to try to avoid these flaws by revising the plan to try to prevent things going wrong, but even still there was nothing that could be done on Lawrence's part to prevent the plan from failing.

Pd 2:

Friar Lawrence is guilty because he came up with a plan and kept secrets. For example, when Friar says, “go home, be merry, give consent”. Friar Lawrence is guilty because if he would’ve never made the plan, no one would have died.

Some might say that Friar is guilty because he came up with a plan and kept secrets. But Friar is INNOCENT because if he didn't keep the marriage a secret, the plan would have never worked. If the Montagues and Capulets found out, the feud would have gotten worse than it was because of the controversy of Romeo and Juliet marrying. Therefore, the marriage had to be a secret in order for the plan to work.
