Is Human Existence as a whole pointless?

In general, not people's unique lives

As a whole, yes, I believe humanity does not have any general or specific purpose for it's existence. I do not consider any religion to be able to provide such a purpose as none of them have been proven to be true. People's specific lives most definitely do, but that is not the question here. Life is what you make of it.

I agree with you at the start, but disagree later because of the statement "People's specific lives most definitely do," for it opposes your argument. Why, if anything we have ever known or thought of as humans does not matter, would our specific lives have a purpose? Our existence, or anything in the entire universe's existence, does not have a meaning because over an infinite length of time, the object will cease to exist.
