Marriages are Obsolescent
Marriages became social necessities because of the need to protect children and provide them with a chance for life. In the absence of marriage and since there were no means of preventing conception available in the past, the responsibility of bringing up of children would have been taken less seriously by society.
However, in the present scenario, where one has and does exercise the option of whether to have or not to have children, the need for preventing unwanted pregnancies is not a critical issue. People have sex for the sake of the pleasure it gives them and have companionships through live in relationships and when they want to have children can have them and bring them up on their own.
The question is whether, we foresee a possibility that in the future, there will not be any need for any body to get married at all .
