The USSR contributed most to the Allied Victory over the Fascists. The German Whermacht had almost 200 divisions stationed on the eastern front. The USA, had only 97 divisions at their peak in 1945. Furthermore, the USSR inflicted almost 75% of losses on the Nazis. Additionally, 95% of material used on the Eastern Front by the Soviets was manufactured domestically.

Lastly, remember who took Berlin.

How is there any question here? The CCCP, of course! Without them, we would have lost. They ended up making it so Germany was fighting on two fronts. Without that, we'd have lost.

#1 Britain

#2 France

#3 USSR

#4 China

#5 USA

Italy, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia (now both Czech Republic and Slovakia), Poland, Netherlands and the rest were just outcasts who happened to be dragged into the war at random moments by the jackass named Hitler.

Firstly, Britain was the only Allied country to be continuously in arms against the Axis powers for the entire war.

Secondly, after the French surrender in June 1940, Britain was the only country to remain opposed to the Germans, and continue fighting.A British surrender, negotiated peace, or defeat in 1940 would have left Germany in control of continental Europe, probably up till the present day, as Hitler would then have been able to turn his full resources against Russia, and thus defeat them.

Thirdly, it was the British leader, Churchill, that convinced USA to help with weapons and war materiel in 1940 and 1941, and then, after Pearl Harbour, concentrate American resources on a 'Germany First' policy of securing Victory in Europe as a priority, including extending Lend Lease military aid to the Soviet Union.

Finally,Britain's geographical position provided the base for the American build up of men and resources that was needed to successfully prosecute the war against the Nazis.Without Britain, an amphibious invasion launched across the Atlantic by USA was, with the best will in the world, impractical to say the least.

Those in favour of USSR having made the biggest contribution to Allied victory seem to forget that, under the Pact of Steel, Stalin supplied the Germans with oil, grain, steel and other materials which they used to feed their war machine, right up till Operation Barbarossa in 1941.Secondly, Russia was only kept in the war in 1942 by substantial aid in terms of strategic raw materials and tanks, warplanes, trucks and so on from Britain and America.Much of the military equipment used by the Russians in the initial defence of Stalingrad came from this source, without which they could well have been overwhelmed.

America was only fighting for a fifth of the time the other main allies were.

Great Britain, sure Russia may have lost more soldiers than we did, but we invested so much money into WWII that we were then unable to sustain our empire. The largest empire the world had ever seen and we lost it due to Germany messing around (again), France unable to take on Germany alone (again) and America failing to turn up on time (again).

If it weren't for America Great Britain would probably be toast.

What a load of utter rot.

Germany! It didn't actually achieve victory but it certainly contributed the most towards it. Ya'll are stacking up contributions of several major superpowers and dozens of allied colonies and countries all fighting against... Germany. Germany damn near conquered Europe more or less on their own. It took the contributions of several superpowers to quell the contributions of Germany, thus Germany contributed more than any one of them individually.

XD

But if I have to choose from allied countries, here's my list in order:

GB

USSR

Commonwealth

USA

Anyone else who was fighting

France

Germany only conquered so much of Europe because no-one called their bluff. If France had acted when Germany had started militarising the Rhineland, then maybe WWII wouldn't have happened.

Perhaps. But there's an infinite number of "what ifs" when it comes to WWII, and not all of them favor the Allies. For example, if Hitler had waited to attack Russia until after finishing up the Western front (or not done it at all) Germany would rule most of Europe today.

America only got in when they knew they had a chance of winning, If the Nazis had a chance of winning America would of sided with them, America is all about money & power they will sell there souls for power and profit, then again thanks to WW2 America gained so much power after that War, going into WW2 was a strategic plain they had toward there world domination plot.

Lol Ok that was all made up but it sounds like something America would do, who knows I might of hit the nail right on the head.

The USA did. Without the USA, Great Britain and the other European countries would not have been freed.
