To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.

I've never been in a relationship that I could consider "real." I mean, I've had some close calls, but I'm not one to fall in love or whatever.
Now, this really just means that I can't measure what is "better." However, I will say that relationships are like cocaine. Excellent at first, but leads to addiction and paranoia. Not that use of cocaine will be "bad," but it will come with many side effects that you will usually ignore just to have more cocaine.
Of course, not from my personal experience. this is just what I study, and find it to be accurate. Of course, people that love relationships tend to say that I'm wrong. But coke heads will often say that I'm wrong as well.
And that whole monogamy thing. Pointless cultural rules. Open relationships would be most ideal.
Me too. I mean, I probably won't find someone into that for awhile considering the women currently in my life, but I suppose a future, happy version of me is involved not necessarily a swinger lifestyle, but a relationship not constricted by societal norms. Even if we only sleep with each other and no one else, it's because we don't feel like going out and finding others to sleep with, not because of some imaginary rules that this is how relationships have to be.
Well, it's good to see that you folks are at least half open-minded. Experimentation is always important... just for the advancement of human beings and sexuality.
Just remember that the point is too feel good... not look cool. I think it'll make sense when you actually "get there."
I don't get the point of not experimenting, you won't know what you like and don't like if you don't.
I understand that already. I almost had a threesome just because we were at a friend's house. Changed my mind thankfully, and realized I didn't really want to with the girl.
threesomes can be fun. Well, all depends on who you're with, of course.
I feel, though, that what it mostly takes is comfort... and horniness, of course.
Also... experiment with ecstasy. I mean, my recommendations are to experiment with LSD and shrooms while you're at it (involving sex,) but one step at a time.
Hahaha, so I've been told. I'm not against trying it at all, I've just never really had the opportunity to, and it's not something I'd go out of my way to buy.
Hello? There you were saying about you already being in a relationship for 4 years and now you ask some other person out. It means its other you're a big fat liar, or a big fat cheat!
True. I can imagine the life. Sometimes, your tired, you want to rest, but cant. You want some personal space, but you cant. You're always a duo, always. It would be very tiring.
I've been in a few "real" relationships... yeah, they were all pretty big mistakes.
I don't think you can indefinitely come to a decision on whether single life is better or not, but for me it certainly is; I get more enjoyment from it.
Single Life... You can enjoy have fun, keep back, relax, enjoy life, only caring abut yourself, and maybe yr parents, no kids, no wives to care for. All alone, enjoying a whole condominium appartment all to myself, YES! THIS IS THE LIFE!
I would not know which one is better due to that i have never had a girlfriend. But i would have to guess single life. You can talk to girls, if you had a girl friend they would get mad. (well, where i live they would)
When I'm in a relationship the single life always looks very appealing. When I'm single I'm usually fed up with the social bullshit and just want a cool girl to date. Truth is, I'm equally discontent with both. But right now I happen to be in a relationship, so the single life sounds better.
Yeah, being a relationship sounds nice, but it takes too much of your time and effort. Relationships are fueled by lusts and infatuation. After some time that fuel will run dry and boom, relationship= gone.
But when being single, you learn how to be alone. You depend on no one but yourself. You don't have to commit yourself to your other and use that liberty to do something great in your life. You don't have to tip-toe around the person you're with in case you lose her/him.
In conclusion, being single is more productive and easier than being in a relationship.
I've been in several relationships.... I was in that many cause I couldn't be faithful to them as they hopped for so It's better for some people or maybe just me in general that they stay single not that I'm saying that you can't have meaningless sex
being in a relationship, call me old fashioned, but i hate how girls and guys just blow through each other, and ive never really been in a relationship, being single is fun but its not satisfying, and gets extremely boring, im just looking for the right person to settle down with
i know that caring for someone is a pain, but when your with someone they bring you so much happiness and you have someone you can count on for at least a while
Neither is better necessarily. Depends on a person's individual needs.
I'm the type of guy that tends to favor the single life...mostly because of the monogamy that typically comes with being in a relationship. However, I'm in a wonderful open relationship right now and can definitely say that for me, this is the most ideal situation to be in.
Most single people complain about not being in a relationship, unless they're a loner at heart. So, relationships are good, and beneficial. If you find the right person, you'll have someone to count on, to share burdens with, etc. Generally, it's a better life.
