With all the scandals, would prosecution thwart marital affairs?

Would prosecution of martial affiars be fair?

Would it help reduce the divorce rate?

Does the government have the capacity?

Should marital affairs be illegal?

I think that marital affairs should be illegal. When people do things like this there are more people being hurt than just the husband or wife. The kids (if any) have to deal with these things too. I think that divorce rates would probably increase because people wouldn't be able to do it as easy and would just get a divorce instead of trying to work it out.

There are many different types of relationships, and making marital affairs illegal would make many relationships unlivable. Many polyamorous relationships consist of a husband/wife who "swap" with another husband/wife, or have seperate girlfriends/boyfriends.What happens to those relationships which are stable, which work, and which are suddenly made illegal?

No. People will always ignore laws that they finds inconvenient.

The only way such a law would work is for "Stoning" be the penalty, as that would eliminate the possibility of repeat offenders.

Side: No, free society

Martial Affairs should or never be warranted for prosecution because marriage is contract between husband and wife of maintaining infidelity. Marriage is a compromise and without compromise, marriage will falter.
