Here are my final thoughts on the subject at hand. While I know that China has a huge economy, a huge military, and a huge influence, "huge" doesn't always mean it's the best. They all have some problems, while on the contrary, our country has less problems than China. Plus, our influence is bigger. So, we win.
Winner: The United States
The United States will be the 21st century superpower for quite a number of reasons.
1. Economy: Winner - The United States
Even though China has the second biggest economy, that doesn't mean it's flawless. China's ability to reform their economy today is questionable, and their financial sector of their economy is way behind ours. Their growth is slowing down, and their are economic inefficiencies everywhere, due the services sector reforms being extremely slow. They also fail to give investors consistently profitable real returns, and serious financial constraints due to excessive government involvement can threaten the future of their economy. They have an official exchange rate GDP of $10.73 trillion, and a per capita GDP of $14,600. On the other hand, our economy has a higher official exchange rate GDP ($18.56 trillion) than China's, a much higher per capita GDP ($57,000), and at the Bretton Woods meeting in 1944, world leaders decided to anchor their exchange rates in gold, which would then be tied to our currency: the dollar bill, thus making our currency the most important in the world. We also have a lower inflation rate (our 1.3% compared to China's 2%).
2. Military: Winner - The United States
We understand that they have more manpower, more technological advances, and more tanks and submarines, but just because you have all that stuff doesn't mean you have a strong military. They are still way behind the other powerful militaries in the world in terms of equipment and training, as lots of money is put in to equip and train China's gigantic military. All those problems, along with corruption, lack of competition, overruns in cost, delays, issues enforcing quality control, lack of combat experience (they hadn't engaged in combat with a foreign enemy, which was Vietnam, since 1979, which puts them at a disadvantage in terms of combat experience), a flawed organizational structure, and monopolies in the defense industry when it comes to getting new technology all complement the fact that although China's military is the most enormous in the world, it still has tons of issues it needs to fix before it can become superpower-worthy. Meanwhile, the United States military, while it's not as large as China's, it certainly is quite big and is much more capable than China's as it doesn't have most of these problems which puts it at an advantage.
3. Politics: Winner - The United States
Although China has influenced many other countries around the world, it’s not as big as an influence as the United States. China’s economy is only the second-biggest, beaten by the United States. Yes, China’s influence is growing, however, even Russia is more influential than China. Plus, they are a communist nation, and back then, communist nations were seen as a threat according to the Domino Theory, so they’ve had a little catching up to do since then in terms of influence. They’ve also had some problems over the years, and that should not influence any country. Meanwhile, the United States has done some remarkable things. It boldly declared independence from Britain in 1776, led the allied powers in World War II, and it has lots of countries who happen to be friends with them, along with the biggest economy and military. Whatever happens in the United States always seems to have an influence on the world. When the 2016 presidential election happened, everyone was watching, and for a good cause, too. The victor (who was Donald Trump) would lead the world’s most powerful country, which had the strongest economy and military. Sorry China, but we win.

Then get a life BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB
roasted
Things have been changing, and it's a little confusing for some people. I don't really care about the issue that much anymore... I'll just sit back, relax, AND WATCH NORTH KOREA BURN!!! DIE!!! DIE!!! DIE YOU COMMUNIST MARXISTS!!!!!!! BLAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I agree, Michael wins, but there are a few things I want to say. One, Michael Jackson isn't Jesus Christ. He sinned like the rest of us. Two, he won't send us to hell just for liking other singers. He wanted to HEAL the world, not destroy it completely. Three, Madonna is a Christian. She'll only go to hell if she doesn't believe in God, and based on what I've read about her, she's Catholic. So, to sum it all up, Michael Jackson wasn't God, he won't send us to hell, and Madonna won't go there either. I'm only saying this because of MY beliefs. I'm a Lutheran. Are you?
Personally, I like a lot of musicians, but if I had to have a top ten list (not necessarily in order), here's what it would be: Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Billy Joel, Eminem, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Dr. Dre, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and Elton John. They were music pioneers that shaped the music we know today: pop. Let me know who you like in the comments below!
The USA did the right thing by dropping bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Based on what I've read about World War II, I don't think that Japan would have surrendered if the bombs weren't dropped. Even after Hiroshima, Japan still wanted to fight us, so we had to drop ANOTHER bomb on Nagasaki. Only then, did Japan finally surrender, and the world's bloodiest war ended. Plus, millions of lives were saved! If we didn't drop the bombs, more people would've died, and we already lost 100,000 soldiers on both sides when the United States and Japan fought fiercely in Okinawa in the spring of 1945.
You SHOULD NOT judge a book by its cover. Just like you should not judge a country by its size. Just because our country may be bigger, doesn't mean that they're not as powerful. They have LOTS of nuclear power, and if we ever engaged in a nuclear war, it would spell DISASTER not only for them, but for US too.
I disagree with YOU! We're all in danger. North Korea has so much nuclear capability it's practically a death sentence just to LIVE in the United States. They'll probably nuke Guam first, then South Korea, then us. How will we counter THAT?!
North Korea is not something to take lightly. We should be worried. They have recently conducted yet ANOTHER nuclear missile test, and it was the best yet. They're threatening to fire off missiles towards Guam, and they said it might test a hydrogen bomb in the ocean. War with North Korea would have VERY dire consequences, as their nuclear weapons are extremely powerful and dangerous. This is not something to ignore.
I agree. All Michael wanted was to enjoy what he did, have a good life, and have a family. It breaks my heart to see things such as the sexual abuse trials he had to go through. None of us even know if he was guilty. But, aside from that, he was the most amazing musician who ever lived!
He definitely is not the worst guy ever. Hitler was the worst guy ever. He killed millions of people, with most of them being innocent Jews who never did anything to him. Trump is just a guy who goes on Twitter and embarrasses his Secretary of State. Hitler is much worse.
I personally think that the five UN security council members should lose their veto power, for a few reasons. First off, only they get veto power to their advantage, and most other countries don't get their say on what THEY want. There's no equality. Second, issues like the Syrian War would've ended right now, if Russia didn't support Assad, that is. They just vetoed the order to help the Syrian War calm down, and look where that's gotten us. Finally, the 5 just use veto power for THEMSELVES. They want it for THEIR country, not for the OTHER countries. They don't care about THEM. They can't be selfish and get what THEY want every time. They need to care about EVERYONE. That's why I think that the UN should abolish veto power for the five, so that way EVERYONE can be happy.
I have to admit, I really like Madonna, but I just have to side with Michael. I've grown up with him forever, loved ALL of his music, and memorized his moonwalk. On the other hand, I only found out Madonna existed 2 years ago, listened to my first Madonna song at 11, and I haven't really heard every song that she made. Maybe when I find out a little bit more about her, my opinion might change, but in the meantime, she's still the Queen no matter what. Anyway, Michael was an amazing musician (may he rest in peace) who will still be one of my favorite pop stars ever!
While I certainly am okay with Donald Trump, I'm definitely not okay with Hillary Clinton. She could've destroyed the second amendment (the right to bear arms), and she only did because she said it would stop "mass killings." That's completely wrong because you can kill someone with a knife, a blender, arsenic, the list goes on...
Compared to bad presidents (i.e. James Buchanan), he's doing better than most of them. However, compared to good presidents (i.e. Abraham Lincoln), he's not doing so well. If he improves, my opinion will probably change, but he just was not the best choice for the Republican candidate. I don't even know how he won the nomination...
