Are people responsible for their actions?
We are products of our environments so why is it people are "held accountable", instead of helped out? no one is bad, even though they do bad things. If they knew better, would they do it? Again, people are forever influenced by factors withing their environment. This ranges from parental up bringing to the food you eat daily. Go ahead try and debate me ;).
Yes, people are responsible for their actions. Your argument is correct to some degree that we are products of our environment, but in the end it comes down to one simple thing....choice. It is an individual's choice to act on those "teachings" or not. Like the old saying: "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink". I can try to teach you how to act and think, but unless I have the correct information and understanding of what it takes to convince you, I will probably fail. For example, I am an Atheist, but I was raised Christian. My whole family was Christian. At some point in my life I began to question what I was taught and came to a different conclusion. I did this on my own, no-one else was involved in this process. 1
