Atheists dont believe there is no god, we just dont believe that there is one. It seems picky but there is a difference. Were no saying there is no god, we just dont hold the belief in one. Also, it doesnt take faith to accept that the big bang and evolution happened. We can look at the evidence that science has collected. Why do you believe germs exist? You cant see them? Is that faith? No, because of the evidence that they exist such as illness, and microscope examination. The same goes for the big bang: we know the universe is expanding, it is consistent with the laws of physics, we can map the background radiation from it, ect. and for evolution: germs and microorganisms evolve and mutate, natural selection occurs, ect. Based on this and MUCH more evidence, we can accept that they are accurate. Also i wanna add that atheist is not the belief in the big bang and evolution. You can be an atheist and not accept the big bang or evolution. Most do because it is logical and they accept the evidence provided Side: No
Faith is the key word here, most Atheist base there is no God due to lack of evidence. Most Atheist will admit to a God if there was evidence, the problem is there is none at all other then the unknown and that does not make the evidence true or false, it's the lack "of" that makes it untrue that creates the atheist mentally, not lack "of" so it must be true This is the reason I am Agnostic because I can't say one way or another, but what I am sure is the Theistic God is not true because of the shear human emotions associated with it upon it's writings, however if there is a God/creator this God would most likely be a Deistic God not a Theistic one like the Bible or any other Theistic religious fable. Mayo covered the first part but i wanna add: Even though we dont need faith or evidence to support our lack of belief, most atheists are atheists because of the evidence against god and for a natural cause of the universe based in science, as well as other evidence that disputed many biblical claims and ultimately the simple fact that God, christianity, and any other religions have no evidence to back up their claims. Side: No
It varies among atheist. But we don't require faith in no god. We actually don't believe that God exist according to the Bible and Koran definition or personality of God. But we ourselves don't say that 100% or 150% God there is no God. We just don't believe because all the things in the Bible and Koran are just absurd. The "BOOK" doesn't proves that god exist. It only raised up more question if he actually exist. The BOOK is written over 2000 years ago, and most probably based on hearsay. Or a passed down story tale. Though I don't deny the moral value it has, but I can't comprehend the absurdities. For me, if there is a GOD, he is just the "MOTHER NATURE of Earth or Universe" that NEED NOT worshiping. Why would he create us just to worship him? Its good enough if human have the humanity in them, love for life and peaceful environment. Not need the worshiping of something next to non-exist. Religion only creates hatred, because each and every one of them wants to claim the one true religion, and calling those not believing as evil immoral sinful. Its all in their book to call non-believer as evil immoral sinful. Side: No
