How do you decide what is Right and what is Wrong?

Basically, what makes something right or wrong and how do you justify it? How do you decide what action to take in a moral dilemma?

Note: I am looking for non-religious responses.

Flip a coin.

We're beginning to think alike. If I were you, I would be VERY concerned ;)

I do it by common sense I don't look to dictators to find out whats bad or good.

When wondering if I should do this or that, I've long operated by asking myself this question: Would I freely tell everyone I know that I did this? Now, I should stipulate that I am old enough to still have a sense of shame; so I am not someone who brags about shoplifting or any of the shit that is glorified of "reality T.V."

But the summarized idea would be: if you wouldn't tell your parents you did it, don't do it.

By evaluating the situation and seeing if it is exploiting or harming any one else. Right or wrong is pretty simple most of the time although Religion often clouds people's minds from seeing that.
