Money brings happiness!

Have you ever seen somebody frown on a jet-ski?

The wealthy lead boring lives.

They can do anything they want in the world - it all becomes mundane after awhile.

As I said in the other post, I could easily see myself descending to Bateman's level of madness (American Psycho).

That is true, however while being from a relatively poor family I would love to have money to blow.

I really don't think I would ever become bored. As honestly all I would want to do is party, watch movies, read oh man would I READ, eat great food, play tennis, and work out. I don't see myself growin' bored =)

It all depends on how you look at it:

1.it can ruin a person by mis-using responsibilty

2. or it can be over used

A certain amount of wealth is necessary. I remember reading somewhere that going from poor to middle-class increases happiness levels significantly, but going from middle to upper class doesn't have much of an effect. So you need enough money to support a healthy life, but that's about it.

Yes, do do need to have some money on you. You don't want to spend half of your life being chased up by debt-collectors. You do need some money to make the most out of life, but you don't want too much, either. Some rich people are very sad people. The trick is finding the right balance for you. So yes, money is necessary for a happy lifestyle, but not too much so that it will make your life as boring as hell.

Side: yes

well homeless people do not seem to be very happy so i would take it that you need money to live a good life, to support a family fairly house car food

Side: yes

I would prefer poverty.

If I had wealth, I could easily envision myself descending to the same level of madness as Bateman from American Psycho.

Side: No

I've been rich and I've been poor, so I know what I'm talking about when I say that you do NOT need money to live a happy/good life.... but it sure helps ;)

Sri Lanka's citizens enjoy a long life expectancy, advanced health standards, and one of the highest literacy rates in the world despite the fact that the country has one of the lowest per capita incomes.

@TERMINATOR

Survival is not the only way of living. You can eat as healthy as you want, exercise as much as you want, but what's the point? We can live for up to 100 years which is not a long time considering this is the year 2,010 excluding the millions of years in the BC era. Within those 100 years you might as well do something fun in your life by going on vacation, buying something new to play with, or just enjoy a massage if you like that stuff. How can you do all that stuff? With money!

And nobody give me that love conquers all crap. I've seen plenty of marriages where their lives are nothing but stress because they didn't think about the financial problems. Get money and go out and have fun with friends.
