Should AIDS drugs be made cheaper for developing countries?

Do you think it is fair that people that live in poor developing countries where people have no money  should have to pay so much money for ' AIDS cocktails ' when they can barely afford to pay for their daily food?

Hell I think that they should be free for most developing countries. I think that they should basically be free for everyone but I guess we do not live in a perfect world.

I know people that are here in the US and they barely make the payments on their cocktails for a month. I find that wrong that they have to struggle literally to survive.

I totally agree, I think that it is wrong that people have to pay out the door for drugs that do not really even fix the problem up vote for you!

Yeah, I can't look it up right now, but on average it costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to treat just one HIV patient over their life,

and still people like the catholic church are against giving out 50 cent condoms, and clean needle programs for addicts, it's retarded.

but I firmly believe that we've evolved to the point, where it should be a right of any individual to get the medical help they need regardless of money.

Yep, that would be universal Health Care. And no, it's not communism.

They should be made cheaper or free if they could be. Some countries are not as privileged as we are and do not have the technological advancements that we do. It;s not always their choice to reside where they are do so at least this much could help them.

The drug companies are among the richest companies in the world. They should be doing everything they can to make these drugs affordable to everyone. I don't know if patient assistance programs exist but they should.

They do in Africa for a small minority, it should be free to ALL. How these drug companies can sit on so much money and not give to every minority that can not only not afford to feed themselves they now have to suffer through lack of money.

Not only for AIDS drugs, but for all drugs! These people can barely afford food. I think the least these drug companies can do is supply affordable (if not free) drugs to the poorest in developing nations. I also think we should feel the compassion, as Americans, to help them out as well. I'm not saying we need to help them, but we should all think about it and help if we can.

Side: Of course

People should not have to suffer so these drugs should be given at a cheaper price to developing countries.

Side: Of course

It;s probably better to die of AIDS than die of starvation. I mean, if they're going to die anyway, then way delay the inevitable? Why would anyone want to live a miserable existence? Let them try their luck in the here after ;)

Side: What about the rest of us

It should be made more inexpensively for all people. Again, patient's assistance programs should exist for these patients across the board so that everyone can afford to take them.
