well, there are those who do, but they'll never get power because there's nothing they can actually do.

there are civil rights abuses in many countries and we don't do anything about it because we are isolationists. we attack potential threats and enemies, not a random dictator who hasn't threatened us or have broken a treaty.

if we did, we'd lose a lot of soldiers for other people who might not even appreciate it.

I prefer Rambo style when it comes to this shit. If you want to help these poor people, you pack up guns and go in there yourself.

Boycotting the games would have been an impressive move from the international community. The fact is, China represents the slavery we've (the West) disbanded. When we can no longer treat people like machines in our own countries to increase our profits, we must look to those with a lesser concern. Perhaps we should call outsourcing 'renditioning'.

Once/if China climbs the slippery ladder to relative socio-economic enlightenment, perhaps Africa will be the next country we exploit.

China is already exploiting Africa. They've beat us to it.

Why? Because they don't impose rules on rulers regarding how they can spend money or treat their people.
