Instead of making it quick you would rather have that person be tortured for the rest of the life? And not just that, keeping that person alive consumes a lot of resources that are simply wasted, as the person is literally useless to everyone and contributes nothing to anyone. Life imprisonment is idiotic. It is not "humane", as many morons like to call it. How exactly is torturing someone for their entire life better than simply ending it right now? If someone has trouble understanding the "torture" part. For the rest of the life all you do is eat, shit, sleep, and that's it. You also have a lot of time to think over your worthlessness, at one point you'd very probably realize the best choice would be killing yourself but you are not allowed to do even that. How would you like to live your life being unable to decide over your own life? And then in the end die miserably, even though you'd be happy over your death. Life without a purpose is pointless, and in imprisonment there is no purpose to choose 'cause you aren't in control of your life and there are no worthwhile options anyway. You want to do the best thing for them? Then kill them right now and be done with it. Side: death sentence

How can you morally agree with giving a random man the ability to deem another person deserving or undeserving of life; which, as far as we know, we only get one of. Does anybody rightly have the right or esteem to decide the value of a person's life? Think on these moral dilemma's. Will you knowingly contradict yourself? Side: life inprisonment

I'm not sure that's just all. The reason why people who were hung need to wear black bags over their heads is that their eyes bug out. My dad told me when he was reading the newspaper which included a story of one of the police who take charge of the hanging. Side: death sentence

I would choose life imprisonment. I am not closing the possibility of early release if I follow my orders. Nonetheless, the prison may still be an enjoyable experience depending on how you treat people there I presume. Besides, hell on earth is still better than eternal damnation. Side: life inprisonment

"life inprisonment" is only 16 years at the very longest where I live. The prisons are also known for beign nice and comfortable places to crash in if you want to feel safe for the night. Enjoy waiting 20 years for your lethal injection while getting molested by Tyrone. Side: life inprisonment

If someone did a crime that would call into question a death or life sentence it would have to be pretty awful. Say murder or something like that. With this said one must understand the reason why the person committed such a crime. It doesn't matter what the definite motive was, all that matters is that the criminal at one time was convinced by his psyche that committing the crime was worth more than not doing it. This shows that such a person would need to have lost all moral objection and sense of right and wrong, because of their want to committ this crime. It seems to me like for one to do that they must have some horrible psychological flaw or impulse that is strong enough to control their actions. These people, being less able to cope with this reality, deserve help. Not punishment. Why should someone die because of a psychological disposition. This country was founded on the idea of freedom and the pursuit of happiness. It is only fair to give help when it's available. Side: life inprisonment
