When Hitler remilitarised Rhineland, he used the Franco-Soviet Alliance as an excuse that Germany was under threat from France and Soviet Union. Britain was in the state where they wanted to prevent further unnecessary happiness or violence. France was about to hold an election during that time and the politicians didn't want the French to think that they wanted to start a war. If the politicians had responded to Hitler's actions, they might lose votes as the French didn't want any wars. The league of nations did not try to stop hitler from remilitarising Rhineland which in turn made Hitler think that the League of nations was weak and would not do anything to stop him from breaking the Treaty of Versailles. Hitler would then think that the League of Nations were powerless and lack of authority as they could not even stop Italy from invading Abyssinia. League of Nations aims were to resolve crisis and maintain peace and order but they could not do so and therefore made Hitler bolder which pushed German further in to war. Therefore, Hitler managed to remilitarise Rhineland as the League of Nations condemned Hitler's actions which in turn was one of the factors that contributed towards the outbreak of World War 2.
