I agree, the annexation of Texas was the reason that the Mexican American War started had started in the first place.

The United States had no right to even send troops to the boarder because Mexico said no. I was their land and if they did not want to sell it to us then we should have just let it be.

I was the Americans fault they were the one who wanted to expand west into territory that was owned by someone else.

Annexing Texas to the United States was very dangerous, it put the US citizens in harm. Mexico threatened that if the United States annexed Texas then they would go to war, putting the lives of the people along the boarder in danger and the people who were fighting in the war.

There was no point in the United States forming the Adams-Onis treaty to acquire Florida. What benefit would Florida have to the united States economy as a whole? The US is just obsessed with buying land and expanding when it is not necessary.

But what was the point in buying the land? After the United States achieved the land they completely forgot about it was became obsessed with acquiring Mexican and Oregon Territory.

I agree that small amount of land did not have hardly any affect what so ever to benefit the United States. The U.S. just bought the land because they were being greedy.

There was no point in the United States taking over almost all of Oregon Territory all the way up to the 54-40 line the land had not benefit on the agriculture or the industry.

People just used that as an excuse for starting the war because they wanted to make it seem as if it was okay to start the war.

The Manifest Destiny belief was just an excuse for causing the war. They used religion as an excuse for stealing land and causing a war.
