Why is it that after hearing or reading Jesus say in John 14 6: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" that non-Christians and atheists don't feel threatened or believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation?
Why would the New Testament writers make up the miracles of Jesus?
I talk to many Christians who believe firmly that the miracles of Jesus were witnessed by eyewitnesses and recorded in the New Testament. In defense of the reliability of the New Testament as an accurate and historical document they ask "why would the authors of the New Testament pretend to be eyewitnesses and make up the miracles of Jesus"? What good would the writers of the New Testament and early Christian believers do deceiving themselves?
