Their political ideology has nothing to do with it. If, however, it is obvious that the orders countermand the Constitution, such as torture or unnecessary genocide, they SHOULD "run them through their"- common sense and question them … and go from there.

Let's step back and see. Saddam ruled with brutal force, killed his own people and invaded other countries. So when America invaded Iraq, it essentially invaded the equivalent of Nazi Germany.
