There is no better debate website. There are some sites that say they are, but they do not practice freedom of speech, they do not allow any and all topics and most importantly, they are sell outs (they sell your data to political parties). Stay here and invite your friends, enemies and everyone else.
So this is an easy one. Facebook sucks...people who use Facebook do so because they want to have a digital social life. I hate Facebook...I only use it because certain people and companies have no other social presence. Ugh...they need to get a life. Oh, and about vaccination, I think people are "advertising" it because they want others to do so as well.
Thanks for noticing. I have been cleaning up the spammers. Over the last six weeks I have deleted 8000+ spam accounts as well as over 4000 debates. I am almost to the point where I am able to clean all the new spam each day. I have also asked my developer to add some additional measure to prevent spamming. I have also been deleting duplicate accounts as I find them.
Dear spchtchr, The membership here can be over zealous at times. I have asked them to stay off of debates that are clearly education based debates. I think the best opportunity for you would be to create you own public community. It is free of charge and while anyone can join, most people don't look at the other communities. Here is a link to setup your own. It takes less than one minute. Then you can post your debates safely there. If any of our members join, you (or I) can ban them from your community.
https://www.createdebate.com/site/
Under education select get started and on the next screen choose the free option.
Then provide your students with the link to your very own community and let them debate!
Let me know if you have any questions via the messaging system.
Best regards,
Andy
I think it depends on the school and current hours, but I do not think school hours should change. If we shortened them children would lose out on education time. If we lengthen them, we short them sports, extra circulars activities and the opportunity to work a job.
We can't control what isn't controllable. We can't stop the problem at the border as it goes much deeper than that. There are too many issues going on in Mexico and Central America. We can't solve those problems, they need to solve the problem. It will take decades to affect change. So we should support efforts to fix it, but we need to be realistic.
After watching the trial so far, it is clear that he used too much force for too long. I don't think they will be able to Convict on third or second degree murder, but they are setting up and will likely be able to prove the second degree manslaughter charge. From what I read that will give him up to 10 years in prison. I am concerned that he has three charges against him and they all will be considered separately. Therefore, he could be convicted on all three charges!!! I think that is bizarre and is only being done because they want a conviction. All I can say is that this is a tragedy for everyone involved and needs to be quickly dispatched.
Well, it is unfortunate that everyone feels that way. I did my best to run the site for 10 years. I gave it my all for the first six or so. Then everyone started complaining about this member or that member. I ran them off, but they came back and id horrific things to the site which I had to spend thousands of dollars to fix/clean/prevent. Running them off caused a vacuum on the side of certain debates. So now what is left? Only those people who have similar mindsets or one or two trolls that I have not been able to get rid of (yet). If you have ideas and want to help I am all ears...they just can cost a ton of cash to implement.
BTW, The site costs about $300 to run each month and I see about $30 in advertising revenue a month.
Yes, it will continue. I am working right now on cleaning up the advertising spammers. Then will come the "great cleansing" where some of the people will get their accounts banned...after a very strong warning before deleting them.
Just to clarify, I have started a separate business. This was a hobby. It got out of control and despite spending thousands of hours cleaning up after the many vicious trolls over the last decade. I only pop in now and again to clean what is in the reported log. I lose money on the site every month. Based on what I am reading I should just shut it down. Do you agree?
No, you must not live in the real world. I protect myself by having ZERO information about anyone...the only information I can see is the IP address of who is logged in when they are logged in. I have to do that because the site has international members. There are laws that prohibit me seeing and knowing anything else without the members permission. Your email addresses are password protected and only you can change them. BTW, most of the members use some type of VPN/Anonymizer. So, I would stop accusing and if you are not happy leave. There is nothing I can do other than delete arguments, debates and ban members for not following the rules. I have enough reports to keep me busy forever. I don't have time to read every post and see everything going on. If you would like, I can delete your member account.
