No, you cannot. The Liberal Christian has to pet the religion that beheads Christians, is genociding Christians in the Middle East, has child brides, and denounces that "Jesus is the Son of God".

If one is a devout progressive, then their ideology comes from atheist "utilitarian" philosophers such as John Stuart Mill who explicitly reject the notion of any truth outside of the material world.

So one can't be a progressive and be a Christian without contradicting themselves unfortunately, since Christian theology and progressive ideology fundamentally conflict.
