Given I could be shot for not accepting martial law; it's in my best interests to shut up and accept it.

Martial law means that the government has failed, which should be followed by a succession of a new government, not a temporary dictator ship. Only a strong leader could rise from the chaos in which martial law would be seen as neccesary, and reinstating a weak leader over a subdued people will not match up to a leader who has gained a people's confidence through initiative.

Nope. I hate being dictated at. Especially if it means that many people die because of the dictatorship. As we've known, many people have no right to do certain things when we have a martial law. It violates the rights of the citizens in our country.

But martial law can be used as a tool for dictators to excuse their actions to the general public, if they cite a need to circumvent the established law to get things done.

Just because a person has the right to take over the country, doesnt mean that he will do things right or as you've said, straighten it back. There are few politicians who would do the right thing, and most of them are enjoying their place in the government. We had a president in our country before who declared martial law in order to prolong his term as a president. He also presented and made many laws so that people could not overthrow him. In short, he even asked his military men to capture all of the people who are fighting his government. In turn, they were turned into prison, and most of them were killed.

You are dictated to everyday bud. You "must" have a social security number. You "must" have a drivers licence. You "must" drive on the right side of a two lane roadway. You "must" have car insurance. You "must" file income taxes. You "must" not use cocaine. You "must" not kill. You "must" not molest children. You "must" obey the police. You "must" wear clothes in public. You "must" pay property taxes. You "must" obey gun laws. You "must" obey a judges ruling in a court of law. Etc..... Your declaration is as though it came from the mouth of a child.

You 'must' but then.. Not all people should. I dont have a social sec number. I dont have a drivers license cause i dont drive. And the things that you said. Many people in our country dont follow those terms, and yet, they dont get imprisoned because of it. As far as im concerned thats how i see world. Youve said its a must, but it doesnt apply to all. Its your choice if you should follow them, and thats your conscience.

Have you experienced martial law in your country before? Cause most of the rights of the people here in our country were violated because of that law. Many people also were salvaged and kidnapped and families did not find them because of it

Side: no

Martial law is probably scary than government civilian law considering it is government is super hyper-drive on steroids.

martial law is ridiculous, it should never be used and never should have been thought of. what happened to the people deciding what happens? what a bunch of bureaucratic junk.

Side: no

It is too totalitarian. It is an ugly sight to see and scares me.
