Does Harry Potter promote Satanic witchcraft?

Well the first thing I did once I received my limited-edition Harry Potter wand in the mail was to slaughter a goat, use its blood to draw a pentagram on the floor, and try to summon Emma Watson.

I don't know if this counts.

It only counts if you successfully summoned her. ;)

Side: Yes

YES, ban them all! They're corrupting our children and leading them toward that devil worship stuff!

In other words: I read all the books, I found them thoroughly entertaining.

No, Harry Potter is a Christian allegory. It can primarily be seen in the last book.

The entire thing.... haha

If I had to guess based off of what I remember I would say it has something to do with martyrdom shortly followed by resurrection.

And maybe she did borrow from Christianity for this. Nobody is claiming her book ideas were unique. Look at book four; it's WWII all over again (from the British perspective). You have Brits, French, and Russians all fighting against a bunch of blonde-haired, blue-eyed blood purists, with America nowhere to be found.

Did you even read it? It's all about fighting darkness with love, Harry missing his parents and getting courage to fight for them, and teaching people to deny temptation (esp. on the Horcrux that Ron broke open and the story of the three brothers). In short, love triumphs over evil.

Side: No

It is harmless story that is fictional, witchcraft is nothing bit games anyway.

Harry Potter, in case all you people haven't noticed, is a popular childrens book.

It DOES NOT promote Satanic witchcraft.

Sure, they may use wands and magic, but that's not the only reason its popular. It's well written, interesting and a great literacy choice.

It does not in any way, push or force the idea of witchcraft into any childrens minds. The real moral of this story is that love is a much greater power than any so called Dark Magic. It does not "pollute" instead it implants not only writing skills and creative ideas, but moral concepts into childrens minds.

The magical element in it is to only add a twist to make the book a better selling sensation.

Some of you people who side "yes" in this debate are all missing the point.

How dose it? I have read the books and I have read nothing Satanic.

Yes, Harry Potter does promote witchcraft though it must be said that

1)it is inadvertent (I could say that Twilight promotes vampiricism) and there is no explicit promotion in the book

2)definitely not satanic(which is probably why you said Satanic witchcraft instead of Satanic wizardry because that will sound really stupid)

So tldr, if you think Satanic wizardry doesn't sound stupid then yeah by all means Harry Potter promotes Satanic withcraft

Nope harry potter does not promote witchcraft. Its just that throughout history witchcraft has been viewed as an evil and satanic art by early christians. But its just an idea we blame human misfortune on witches and supernatural entities.
