Is Photography Art...?
I'm just wondering...cuz i just basically got a slap in the face from someone close that photography isnt art along with screen shots off online sites. so if you think photography, CGI (like IMVU screen shots) and photo editing is art go for the affirmative if not go the negitive and talk about it.

Photography is art. Photo editing, I don't believe is an art. The art of photography is in its simplicity, and in the artist's ability to capture something with just a snap of a lens. The art is in the angles, the background and the subject matter, not the editing stages (if there are any). Many people belittle photography as an art form, citing the fact that yes, any schmuck can pick up a camera and take a picture. But, growing up around my mother who is a professional photographer, I can say that if the viewer understands what they're looking at, and has the ability to appreciate minimalism, then yes photography is absolutely art. Art is a lovely thing and it comes in all forms. Art is creating something. In photography you create an image. Make a moment last a long time. Hence it is an art. Also because not everyone can make the best moments last for long. Photo editing is also a creative job. It is just not the true self from it's original form. Besides art is sometimes a tough job, sometimes easy. It's just how it is done. But, creativity will remain creativity as an art. Side: Yes it is Art
Photography is a form of art. It express the way people look at things. In a photographer's point of view we get to experience how they observe objects and it appears to them. Art is what you make it. As a child when you are in arts & crafts you begin to create a picture and when you get older, instead of drawing a picture you can capture one with the advantage of a camera. Side: Yes it is Art

Yes, photography is widely considered a form of art. It is a medium that allows individuals to express their creativity, capture moments, and convey emotions through visual imagery. Like other art forms, photography involves the use of composition, lighting, subject matter, and various techniques to create visually appealing and meaningful images.
