Definitely! Every time I send my friends an email or text them, they almost ALWAYS respond with LOL. I've barely used LOL; usually LMAO because it's more "professional" than LOL. I have a friend that, no joke, replied LOL to my long messages 7 TIMES!

It's overused, it gets annoying and repetitive, and it's just a dumb abbreviation.
