Service learning has progressively become popular in schools in the modern era. Service learning, is a modern method that combines traditional classroom teaching with meaningful community service. However, what is the most important aspect? The act of kind and voluntary assistant from us volunteers, or the knowledge behind the act of assistance? I feel that the 'Service' should be more important focus in this meaningful activity. 'Service' is defined as an action of assistance, to help someone in need. Service is important, because this is what instills the values into us. However, learning is just accepting instructions with a dead mind. Service is actively contributing and thinking what you can do for the society and community around you - thinking for the common good. I think that service is what makes us have the mindset to do good for others. 'Service' is a psychological factor, and cannot be forced into one's mind.
