Even though the economy is shaky, this may just be the perfect time to purchase a house if you are in the right position. If you have a strong level of job security or financial resources so that that you can support the monthly payments comfortably then it is a good time. Many houses are currently being sold at lower than there real value. When the economy eventually rebounds the value will appreciate and you're investment will pay off.
