Winning Position: Ireland votes for gay marriage

Ireland votes for gay marriage
The other day the people of Ireland voted with 61% support to legalize gay marriage. That is in stark contrast to the USA where a little dictator,(federal judge) goes against the will of millions of people to satisfy his own personal agenda.
It is unfortunate that the USA can't have a democracy like Ireland where people vote for what they want. We elect politicians to make our laws based on our beliefs and moral values only to have an unelected for life radical, who won't abide by the constitution, decide what he thinks is best for the people of a state. The common man in this country has little say in what type of country he would like to have.
Winning Position: He Knew
The conservatives on here are all in agreement that our president has kept ONE promise he made to the American people when running for president. That was the one he told to Joe the Plumber when he said "I want to spread the wealth so EVERYONE can get ahead."
Those words were never spoken so true. This article says it all.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/feb/11/irs-pay-back-refunds-illegal-immigrants-who-didnt-/#ixzz3RZUvixzB
With all of the tax lawyers, tax advisors, tax specialists running around the WH there is no way Obama did NOT know illegal aliens were going to get tax refunds when NOT paying taxes. Obama even said it himself, he wants to spread the wealth. I bet American citizens had no idea that he meant to give their hard earned tax money to illegal aliens.
Spread that wealth, Mr. President! His time as president can't end soon enough.
Winning Position: Yes
Two New Jersey congressmen have intiated a bill that would allow sports betting in New Jersey plus allow all states up to 4 years to decide if they want it in their own state.
Should the federal law known as PASPA be struck down and allow all states the right to determine if sports betting should be legalized in individual states.

Before the US and Cuba can normalize relations, the Castro boys are demanding that Gitmo be returned to them. Now, the agreement was made about a month or so ago. No mention at that time about returning the base. Two countries negotiate for a year and NOW this is being brought up. I contend that giving Gitmo back was all part of Obama's negotiated deal. Now Obama can say he is forced to give it back so relations can be restored. Agree or disagree.
Winning Position: Do anything necessary
Since I just had a spirited debate I am going to pose a question. It is really simple. If two terrorists had a nuclear bomb in NYC and we caught the one who didn't actually hide it, what is the appropriate course of action. Assume we had one hour before detonation. 10 million lives or more are at stake.
Use all means of torture including cutting off body parts to try to get him to give up the location OR inform him of his civil rights we have in this country and tell him he can keep quiet til his lawyer arrives to defend him.

The hardest career to achieve and succeed at is?
For me it is an easy answer. To be a professional gambler. More than 99% of everyone who tries it fails miserably. Does anyone have another answer? If you agree with me, what would be second?
Winning Position: political posturing
Since it is an election year, here we go again with Obama and the Democrats demanding the minimum wage be increased to 10.10 an hour and accusing the Republicans of not caring about the less fortunate. However, when the Democrats had complete power 3 1/2 years ago neither Obama or any Democrat proposed raising the minimum wage when they could have increased it by however much they wanted to. Now that Republicans control the House Obama is back to his usual political games. How shameful.
Winning Position: no
In the 1950s when school children openly prayed and read the Bible and Christianity was at its peak, 91%, the murder rate per 100,000 stood around 4.2%. Today, religion is taken out of school and Christianity in the USA stands at 73% in 2012, the murder rate per 100,000 is around 6.0%.
I see a clear correlation about being a Christian nation and less violence. Are there other factors involved, of course, but Christianity has a major role.
Winning Position: discrimination
I came across an article that says white babies on average cost about 35,000 to adopt while hispanic babies are around 8,000 and black babies come in at 4,000. So, is it discrimination against white babies/ white people or is the price difference due to more people wanting to adopt a white baby. Supply and demand.

God exists with evolution
This is the number of species on Earth that had to evolve w/o a supernatural being. If there is no God, then every single one of them evolved w/o any help. So, if we can w/o question determine that just ONE could NOT have evolved on their own, then God is an undeniable reality. I can think of a couple of species that fit this description. This is not a for or against evolution post. What I want to know is if there is an honest atheist who agrees with me.

california condor egg vs human fetus
For all the pro abortionists' out there, why does the US government allow for the killing of a baby inside the womb but yet protects the egg of the California Condor? If a person takes an egg of a condor they will be charged with a crime. How can an egg of a damn bird be more important than a 5 month old fetus inside a womens womb. Once the egg has hatched then it should have the same protection as a bird, until then it should be fair game to be taken just as the baby human who is trying to make its way out of the womb.
Who cares if it is an endangered species, an egg is not the same as a bird, just like the fetus is not the same as a human.
Being pro life AND an animal lover I disagree with taking either, but I was just wondering how pro choice people can accept taking a human life away yet protect an egg of a bird?

Brenda Brinsdon didn't want to pledge her loyalty to another country because her allegiance "lies with the United States," the lawsuit says.
A Texas high school student who says she was removed from her Spanish class for refusing to recite the Mexican pledge of allegiance is suing the school district.
Brenda Brinsdon contends Achieve Early College High School and the McAllen Independent School District violated her constitutional rights to freedom of speech and equal protection.
The lawsuit was filed last week on her and her father's behalf in U.S. District Court in McAllen, Texas, by the Thomas More Law Center, a conservative Christian, not-for-profit organization based in Ann Arbor, Mich.
"Plaintiff B.B., as a matter of conscience, felt that it was not right to pledge her allegiance and loyalty to another country when her allegiance lies with the United States. Plaintiff B.B. sees pledging her allegiance to another country through being compelled to state a loyalty oath as an exhibition of patriotism to that country," the lawsuit states.
The McAllen school district did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MSN News on Monday.
Brinsdon was a 15-year-old sophomore in her intermediate Spanish class at Achieve Early College High in September 2011 when she said she was told to stand and pledge allegiance to the Mexican flag and sing the Mexican anthem as part of "Freedom Week." The weeklong series of activities at the school was meant to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the signing of the U.S. Constitution in September 1787.
The rest of the class complied but Brinsdon, who is fluent in Spanish and whose mother is a Mexican immigrant, refused. The lawsuit says she was removed from class.
She said she was given an alternative assignment to write an essay on the history of the independence of Mexico, which she did but got a failing grade.
"Both the alternative essay assignment and its grading were in retaliation of Plaintiff B.B. exercising her constitutional right not to be forced to pledge her loyalty to Mexico," the lawsuit contends.
School district spokesman Mark May was quoted as saying by The Associated Press last week that the class was conducting a "cultural-awareness assignment."
The lawsuit says Brinsdon, now a junior at the high school, was permanently removed from class and got an "F" on her report card for the course.

Winning Position: right to privacy
Will Obamacare end on your constitutional right to privacy? Nowhere does the constitution mention a persons right to privacy. However, with the flawed 1973 Roe vs Wade decision which was decided on the grounds that everyone has a constitutional right to privacy, I can see the Supreme Court overturning the law once a person has to buy health insurance and claim his rights were violated under the 14th amendment like abortion was.

For Evolutionists-Whats next?
If evolution has been happening for billions of years, what will replace humans at the top of the food chain. Will it happen with humans still populating the Earth or will it happen only after we become extinct? And what will replcae mammals? Will it be a species that wont feel cold or heat and not require food to survive? It is inevitable that a more advanced life form will succeed us or evolution is a falsehood.
I would like to hear only from evolutionists as I know what the creation arguement is.

My wife and I are in the process of planning a vacation to Pitcairn next year. The remote south pacific island is 1350 miles from Tahiti and over 3000 miles from New Zealand. It is 2 miles wide and 1 mile long and only about 50 people live there. This has been a dream of mine for over a decade, I can't believe I finally convinced my wife to go.
