I agree with you 100%. I just have to correct you on one thing. The U.S. is not a democracy. We are a Democratic Republic. I have looked up what the difference is about both of them. Both seem to really kind of be the same. But, I do know that it is what was coined when this Government was established.

NO it is not the Governments fault that this kid is not excelling in his class. It is his parents. It is their responsibility to see that he tries to make better for himslef. Encourage him to do better so he has a better chance. This is being accountable as a parent. The same thing goes for the kid that has everything handed to him on a silver platter. He has no incentive to do better because he knows it will be handed to him. This, however, is the exact same as those that are on already installed Socialistic programs. They know they will get a handout, so they do nothing to better themselves. They just ride on the backs of the people that let it continue. It's just too bad there are so many dead beat parents out there. BUT, instead of forcing others to do things against their will just to make it a little easier for a few, there are alot of programs and associations out there that were formed to help out both parent and child, free of charge. This is called being charitable. And there is nothing in this world that does not allow charity. It is encouraged. I am all for showing someone how to do something so they may be able to do it themselves. But I refuse to give handouts. If you need money, I'll show you how to frame a house, paint, trim out, build cabinets, finish concrete, grow a garden, work on an automobile, or anything else I might know how to do. And while your there, I'll pay you for helping me. But, you will not get something for nothing.

Oh, and I guess that since there is still quite a lot of class based crime over there is due to....What? You know, since wealth is evenly distributed among the people.

That is what a Constitutional Republic does. Everyone is born with the ability to do great things, on their own accord. It is whether or not they wish to persue their endeavors and bring themselves up out of adversity. We have Socialistic programs in this Country already. They are flawed. Why? There is always someone that wants something for nothing. Those that milk the system. But what does Government do... They create more rules and regulation to try to bandage the wound instead of doing what needs to be done. Set limits on how much and how long these programs can be used. I am not implying they don't have any merit. They were meant as a hand up, NOT a HAND OUT.

As far as your comment about caring for humanity and doing good to others so there might not be poverty. HA. Do you actually believe that? You are either very young or very blind. There is always going to be poverty. For this one very simple reason... This World is full of people that refuse to do for themselves. And, no mater how much you try to help them, they will never, EVER lift their own finger to better themselves. They feed off of those of us that scratch and claw and sweat and bleed to get what we have rightfully earned. Through hard work and devotion. Now, having gotten that out in the open. I'll give you two examples of what I am talking about. 1: Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he can feed his entire village. Open a chain of fish stores, resturants, bait & tackle shops, guided fishing trips. By doing this you have created a basis for competition between the two fisherman. And at the same time, become an example to someone else that might wish to better themselves, so they apply for a job to help, Stay the course, has a job, makes money all the while learning how to fish and one day starts his own business. 2: Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and you just lost a big business opportunity.

But I have a better example of Socialism and it's effects. A boy in college asks his professor why he thinks Socialism does not work. The professor tells the boy that it is better to demonstrate than to simply tell how. So he tells the boy to come by his house later that afternoon, the boy agrees. The boy arrives, goes around back and the professor is sitting in a chair and has placed a bucket by the pool. The boy asks the professor to explain Socialism, he replies he will, but first, take that bucket, get water from the deep end of the pool and pour it into the shallow end The boy agrees and starts transferring water from the deep end to the shallow. After about 5 times the boy asks when he can have Socialism explained to him and the professor again tells the boy to keep dipping into the deep end and pour it tinto the shallow. The boy throws the bucket down, looks at the professor with a very disgusted look on his face and says nothing is getting done, the level of water is staying the same. It is niether gaining nor losing the amount of water. Nothing is getting accomplished. The professor looks at the boy with a smile on his face and says, and that my boy is why Socialism does not work.

Fisrt off. There are no hate crimes. A crime is a crime is a crime. There are laws on the books that provide punishment for acts of malice towards another person. Hell, any type of action that infringes upon the basic human rights of any individual. That is called the Law of the Land. The only difference is that some tree hugging hippie, liberal, bureaucrat knew they could make some money off of the exploitation of a certain individual. And thus has gotten WAY out of hand. If I walk up to someone and break their neck, they are just as dead. The only difference is that they might have been gay. Or black. Either one. It is still murder. Their Ethnicity or choice of sexuality is of no consequence. Except for someone with an agenda. And as I stated earlier, exploits it for their own monetary gain.

2 points

You can't choose to be black or not. Unless of course you were Michael Jackson. Gay is a choice. A lifestyle. You are not born gay.

1 point

So, you are initially saying that you are willing to infringe upon another persons right to do with their life as they wish? Wha difference does it make to you? Are they personally infringing upon YOUR rights? How about just going that extra mile and making it illegal to be a fast food joint. People know that regularly eating at these places is not good for them, yet they continue to do it. Other drugs are illegal because 1: they are hallucinagenic. 2: the Government wants there cut. 3: they are highly addictive. I know of no-one that has had a couple of drinks, or used tobacco a couple of times and niether overdosed, became addicted, or jumped off of a building because they thought they could fly, or walked into oncoming traffic because they thought they were invincible. But I agree with you on the fact that prohibition only makes thing worse.

This is not an easy question to answer. There are many things that need to be considered. First, the Bible implicates that God made man. Which He then formed a set of rules that were to be obeyed. The rules were ignored and such is why we have what is called Original Sin. We are born into a tarnished society. My point being, the thought of at least some sort of Religion has been cemented into our minds from our parents. And there parents, and so on and so on. All the way back to as far as you ant to go.The thing is this. When did that one parent(s) decide to not instill in there child a strong set of morals. Even at that, there are so many things in this society that still point to a higher set of morals. Take our Constitutional Government for example. Being a Republic, Of the People, By the People and For the People. It was founded on the principles of Christianity. Respecting others Rights. Treating others the way you wish to be treated. But, I guess if the question was stated as, "If there were no such thing as Religion, would or could man live a moral life". No-one knows.

So in essence you are saying that if some regulatory regime tries to confiscate what is legally mine, or make me change my political view I have to fight back with a flintlock? I don't know how many times I or anyone else has said this but, the only thing criminal about a criminal is that they are in fact a criminal. The LEGAL citizens of this country, the Law abiding LEGAL citizens are not the problem. If I choose to spend the thousnads of dollars neccesary to get the FFL needed in order to spend thousands of dollars on a fully automatic weapon, it is my choice, my right. Also, if I have passed the mandatory background check implicitly indicating I am indeed NOT a criminal and of sound mind, who are you to say I have to wait a few days to be able to buy a gun. Here's a little brain buster for you. How could having to wait a couple of days to have your gun in hand effect a woman that has been recieving threatening statements and actions from an ex-boyfriend/husband, or whoever? Fill out a restraining order. You know as well as I do that if someone is intent on bringing violence on another human being, they will do it, no matter what the laws states. That is why they are criminals.

I just wanted to make it clear on here to all that do not know or understand what types of legislation have been drafted in the past. Yes, there have been attempts to serialize the bullet itself, along with micro stamping the primers and casings, but to no avail. It is entirely too expensive and counter productive. Also to say the least, not at all effective in thwarting criminal activities. Here in the U.S. we have Californias' righteous to thank for that beligerate attempt.

I don't think he'll make it that far. And NO, I'm not talking about that. I think he'll be bannished before then.

We would all be starving all of the time. You know, that "an hour later" thing. Also, wouldn't be able to get anything accomplished, cause you know that "an hour later" thing.

I guess it all goes hand in hand. I've got to pay for your food, clothes, kids education, health insurance, cigarettes, liquor and drugs, why the hell not pay for your cell phone. At least that way, I know you'll be in touch with your Family Practitioner, employment office, and your childs school to make sure everything is A- O.K.

WHO THE HELL CARES!!!! You want to hate somebody, go ahead. Whatever the reason. It is your life. Do with it as you please. If you want to spend the rest of it harboring on the past misdeeds of a few limey bastards, go right ahead buddy. Again, WHO THE HELL CARES!!!!

Mandatory laws against robbery and killing are worlds apart from forced health care. Roberry is a violation against another persons private property. Killing is a violation against another persons life. A violent act. Both immoral, but robbery is not considered violent. So, by your comparison, an individual that does not buy health insurance, is an immoral act towards another person. Hmm. That's some pretty messed up logic.

You state that there wil lbe an option. You do not have to get the government policy, BUT you have to be insured none-the-less, or else face fines and penalies. THAT my friend is communism, whatever form. So before you try to get all factual on me, think about this. Communism is a type of government that makes law that infringes on peoples freedom of choice, no matter what. This Republic was set up to not infringe, in any way, upon the personal choices of it's citizens, so long as the choice was not contradictory of morality.

Government mandated auto insurance is a must. Why? When you are on the road, you, through simply being in a motorized box of steel, create a risk of injury and or death to all other motorists on the same road, therefore, needing to protect the other guy. That is the reason why there are different levels of protection and is solely up to you to make the judgement on which is right for you. But still yet, it is not mandatory in all states, although they do have some sort of program. As I stated before, the reason for auto insurance is mainly to protect the other guy which is completely different than health insurance. So, your rebuttle there is null.

Medicare and medicaid? These two programs are, although tax payer funded, are completely voluntary, not mandatory.

The "un"Constitutional aspects of Mr. Obamas' "plans" are that health care BE mandatory, i.e. forced. Again, your rebuttle is voided.

2 points

Uh, HELLO! What do you think happened when they bailed out those corporations? They used our money, the tax payers money. They forced people to resign and take pay cuts.

"Expressing a desire to help those in need does not make you a socialist. It shows that you are human". You are right, but nowhere in the Constitution does it state that Government has the obligation to help the individual person or make an equal, classless society OR have the vested power to "BAIL OUT" any industry. Which of course has been done before.

Let me ask you this. What do you do when you get out of school? What do you usually eat in the course of a day? But the main thing is, No, 40 minutes a day, or even worse, every other day is NOT going to keep you slim and trim., I've been on the heavy side for the better part of my life, but you know what, my stamina and metabolism are right up there with the "slim & trim" crowd. Why? I get plenty of exercise and I don't eat alot of junk food. Not trying to put you down, just stating some facts.

Hell yeah we are! All kids want to do today is sit on their lazy butts stuffing their face glued to the T.V.playing video games sucking down Cokes' and Kool-Aid. But, I'll go on by saying that playing video games do infact develop hand/eye coordination. The main problem is with the parents not leathering up and making their kids get off the couch to get outside for some real exercise and fresh air. When I was in school, P.E. was mandatory, up till sophomore year in high school. I guess by then we were developed and mature enough to know and understand that being "fit" was essential to being somewhat healthy. As far as todays kids go though, I guess genetics have evolved to where everybody is allergic to something. Also, the government, hell ,the whole world has convinced us that we cannot do for ourselves. Having some self proclaimed intellectual tell us that we can't make our kids do certain things or it is considered "bad" parenting.

You cannot be at all serious! How old are you? Or are you just so blinded by all of the falsehoods that have been drilled into your brain by those that wish this Republic to ultimately fall? The media is to keep people informed and the government in check? Our government not shady?

But again, I don't totally agree with the "Hell Yeah" answer. While all that are enlisted in any armed service, they are sworn to uphold and obey the Constitution of the United States. After their tour is over, it should be a personal choice to still uphold that Oath, as with all other Freedoms and Liberties. That is of course WHY the Constitution was written in the manor it was. To protect our inherent and inalienable rights.

I would look him square in the eyes and just shake my head, in a disappointed fashion.

I would a whole lot rather my hard earned money go towards paying the health bills of smokers and fatties than illegal aliens that don't pay one red cent, for any dime they make, towards taxes. But, altogether, it is not my responsibility to "make up" for anyone elses well being. I don't have insurance, and you know what, when I DO have to go the doctor, I get in quicker than someone with insurance. Also, the majority of doctors' offices will set you up on a monthly billed cycle. If I become terminally sick, that's my problem, nobody elses. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Man I'm getting tired of typing this. AHEM!!! The Living Webster Encyclopedic Dictionary of the English Language. And I quote..."socialism, A theory or method of social organization and government wherby the citizenry jointly owns he means of production and distribution, and the power of administrative control is vested in the state; in Marxism, an intermediate state which must necessarily follow capitalism before the goal ot a totally lassless society can become a functional reality.

socialist, One who advocates socialism; a person who belongs to a political party so named.

socialize, To render social, as to suit something to the uses or needs of society; to render sociable, as to make fit for life in companionship with others; to render socialistic, as to establish or regulate according to the theories of socialism. To participate in friendly interchange with other people.

Now, that being said. Nowhere in the Constitution of the United States do I recall anything about the government being entitled to the power of creating an equal society. Sure, it is nice that some elected officials truly want to help their fellow man, but it does not take long for greed to get a grip and turn things upside down. The statement that there is no evidence Obama is not a socialist, are you kidding me? Government mandated health care? You all know what mandate means don't you? Being commanded to do so. That means YOUR government is wanting to command everyone in this country to get healthcare. Again, nowhere in the Constitution of the United States do I ever remember seeing anything about the entitlement of power given to the government to demand anything from the Soveriegn (us, as in We The People).

They have a lower murder rate probably because the criminals know they can go back and violate their victims again since the EU's laws are so lax regarding the sentencing of violent offenders. Having the criminals know their victims are unarmed, thanks entirely to those of this world that put the lives, freedoms and liberties of criminals way before those that are moral and law abiding, is of course a hand up to the criminal themselves. So it just goes hand in hand that the EU's choice to favor the criminal, not sentencing them and giving them easy prey, is just a bonus for them to spend the rest of their lives, if they somehow manage to actually do something so heinous as to be put in prison, being pampered by the gracious tax payers.

Another hippie huh? Alright, I'll say it again. The Bible says God made all cloven hooved animals for the benefit of man. The beast of burden ring a bell? That's right, any and all cloven hooved animal. If you are at a loss?.... Any bovine, swine, cervid, ( cow, sheep, goat, pig, venison [deer, elk, caribou, reindeer, antelope, moose, impala, gazelle, etc.]). Secondly, the offset of oxygen to carbon dioxide and methane is so minimal it pales in comparison to the overpopulation and ridiculously large amounts produced by big cities. Global warming? HAH! Another falsehood in the long list of propaganda brought forth by self proclaimed scientists. But if you are truly concerned? As Ron White put it.."I'm Doin' MY Part By Eatin' The Cow."

1 point

Ok. I am not religious by any means but I do know for a fact that the Bible clearly says God created all cloven hooved animals for the benefit of man. Although, judging by some of the comments on here, the majority of you are atheist, maybe Buhddist. By the way. Meat IS murder....Tasty Tasty murder! I love my bovine, swine, poultry, fish, fowl, venison (that's any of the cervid species), and crustaceans. TED NUGENT ROCKS!

The only real way to punish these organizations is to hit them where it hurts. Their pocket books. Stop watching their programs. Tell people that think the same as you to do the same. Write letters to them saying you no longer view their programs or patronize them in any way. Do research to find out who they are associated with and boycott them as well. This is happening with several newspaper companies. Words travel pretty fast and ultimately, actions speak louder thatn words.

Not all "birthers" are conservatives. I'm not. Until all records are accounted for and a reasonable explanation as to why he paid over a million dollars to hide his records, I, along with other "truthers" will remain in lock step as to him being from Kenya. Becuase this is a very serious situtation. Needless to say it is forbidden by the Constitution. You know, the framework for this Republic. If he is not a natural born citizen, any and all law, policy, and descisions that were made by his administration are null and void. Have you any idea how much of a mess that is going to create? That, along with every congressman that supported him. They would be guilty of treason. All for simply not abiding by the Constitution they swore an oath to follow and protect. Also, by saying that last part, any politician that has attemtped and succeded in the railroading of the Constitution should be held accountable for their eagerness to divert from their original purpose of being an elected official, to represent the soveriegn, We The People.

How can anyone say that racism is no more? Everytime you turn your head someone is saying that the Mr. Obama is black. Or " He did this because he is black". Or " You don't agree with him because he is black". The very reason he was (elected) is because he is black. That and a more smooth talker than the rest of them. Also the fact that the majority of the people that are on government subsidized programs are black. Why? The belief that they still feel that America owes them restitution for their "ancestors". If you ask if I am racist. No. I am however prejudice towards anyone that can do for themselves but refuse to. No matter what color or where they're from. I have never asked for a handout and will never. Nor will I give one. This is the basis for alot of the problems that plague this Republic. Policy that was enacted many years ago that was meant to give a hand up, not a hand out. But it got abused. Now, I ask you who the majority of those people are? Why are they like that? I'll tell you, it because of racism. Not ultimately the white hating the blacks, but blacks feeling they are owed something. Or just plain laziness. These said programs are just enabling the problems. Again, racism is not gone. It has just taken on a different form.

I agree that wearing a seatbelt might in fact save you from serious injury and ultimately, death. My problem is that it IS a violation of human rights. It is MY descision whether or not to wear one. No body elses. The fact that there was legislation passed that fines you when you don't comply is astounding. It simply is not right. Since this guy's post stated that the government is supposed to protect people from themselves, I wonder how he, or anyone else would feel if Big Brother were to pass laws that you must allow yourself enough time to get ready for work in the mornings so as not to be in a rush to get to work. Restrict your speed limit to such a rate that no vehicle can cause damage. If you are on any type of medication, you cannot get behind the wheel. You wear corrective lenses, guess what, you can't drive. It is entirely too dangerous to drive at night. If there is a storm coming in, you cannot be on the road, for whatever reason. You must have both hands on the steering wheel at all times. Can't be messing with the radio, talking on the phone, texting, looking in the mirror. But you know what, all of the things I just mentioned are dangerous to everyone that is on the road the same time you are. Seems to me those would take higher order over when considering personal safety, but they don't. You know why? It puts WAY too much restriction on human rights. The ultimate protection from ourselves is to have to be armed with a deadly weapon, or else, and if you didn't comply, you were fined? (We all know this will NEVER happen). The primary function of government is to regulate interstate commerce. Make policy for the advancement of our society. NOT to infringe on our right to personal choice, so long as it is not in contradiction to the moral fabric that was instilled in mankind.
