We still have slavery in the US, most notably in the form of sex trafficking. It looks different than our traditional conceptions of Civil War and southern cotton slavery, but it is still slavery.

Side: Sure why not?

In secrecy yes

Side: Sure why not?

Slavery is legal when politicians deny a woman's right to choose. Forced pregnancy is slavery.

Being partially regulated is not the same as being owned. By your reasoning, we are all slaves because we pay taxes and agree not to commit certain crimes.

Wrong. Forced pregnancy is slavery. Women have the right to choose what to do with their bodies. Women are more than incubators.

Requiring people to pay off costs incurred by the government for things that, in many cases, people neither wanted nor needed is a hell of a lot closer to slavery than having laws that limit abortion. Forced pregnancy? Cmon.

Side: Sure why not?

Almost no one would stand for that.
