This is a very difficult issue, since everything from our food systems, water sources, oceans and deserts is negatively influenced by our obsession with mining, transporting and burning carbon-based fossil fuels. To state that sustainable businesses are the most effective weapon to actually solve the environmental crisis is a bold statement. It's a great start, but i'm not sure if it's the most effective weapon.

It's all about the world wanting to make a change. Under developed countries don't have the resourches to become/produce environmentally friendly. It would take loads of money of the western civilization (which they don't have). I would start trying to make global laws, which illegalize certain mining methods or other polluting activities. The down side to this is, that under developed countries have to find more expensive ways to keep the production at the same level. Nevertheless, change has to start on a global scale. Meaning the governments of all the countries need to be on the same page.

Hey Wowa, I am not sure if you got the point of my debate topic. "The police or in most cases individuals place photos of 'wanted' suspects online in the hope to find these people with so called crowdsourcing." It is about using mug shots or frames used on a security camera that are placed on these social website in the hope that someone knows these ppl.

In a moral way, it is ofcourse very very wrong. To promote cheating is a terrible thing to do and the strange thing is that apparently there is a market for it. Everyone knows that cheating is wrong, but mediums like this makes it very attractive to cheat if you are in a relationship you don't fight that appealing anymore.

It should be banned (at least for now). I've looked up some information about GMO's and the following concerns me:

"Advocacy groups such as Greenpeace, The Non-GMO Project and Organic Consumers Association say that risks of GM food have not been adequately identified and managed". parties like Greenpeace wouldn't state something like that without any knowledge about the matter. Apparently the current promotion of GM products is dangerously misleading, where the actual benefits to the consumer are minimal. First do extensive research on gmo's in food products (monitored research), before I would feel comfortable with it.

Banning advertisements is a severe restriction upon freedom of speech. Companies should be able to tell the public about any legal products, or innovation will be restricted and new companies will find it hard to market their products successfully in the face of established rivals. Children also have a human right to receive information from a wide range of sources and make up their own minds about it. They are far from being brainwashed by advertisements, which form only a small part of their experiences; family, friends, school and other television programmes are much more important and all give them alternative views of the world.

No, they are not. Smartphone means the phone itself is getting more intelligence, not the people using it. Smartphones make it so people practically have their whole computer with them, if anything they are making things for society a little too easy. With the growing technology around us, people need to be careful not to be reliant on it.

Online dating is a BIG business. So in regards to the working society it's positive, since their big money cows! I'm not sure if online dating websites are very effective, but if it all does what it says, than it is very positive. I still think that the process of someone falling in love with another will always be the same, but it can all change in the future (how people think about relationships). Maybe we rely to much on technology nowadays and all search for that perfect guy or girl.

In short I think that thes website will:

1. Find a lover quicker

2. Makes single life become more interesting because all the kinds of dating activities organized by internet

dating.

3. Marriage (hopefully) becomes more stable because they select their partner from much larger candidates pool

compared with before.

It's a bit hard for me to answer this question, since I am not that formiliar with following fashion brands. I do think though, that the majority would follow a fashion brand on social media because of the pictures. Some written content is a bonus, but it's all about the outfits (images) right? Of you have some kick ass images and other graphic content more people will follow you, than if you would have a 'attractive' content only.

Definately not. It's ofcourse how you perceive the word 'social'. Does it mean the actual interaction with someone (IRL) or is any contact with some being social?

I would say no.. These questions always arise when new technology has been developed. For me, being social means all form of interaction with people. It can be at a bar, on the phone, via the internet.. It's all a form of social interaction.

Multimedia is ofcourse beneficiary and relevant! Even in school. It is a great tool to facilitate and develop a community of learners through online ice-breaker activities. These activities will offer fun and easy ways to get to know each other while also providing outlets for student creativity. Especiially the first couple of lessons this is usefull. Furthermore it can help students visualize difficult concepts or procedures more easily by using static or dynamic multimedia. There are loads of usefull software online, which enables you to get your message across in a better way. And my final pro reason is that it encourages collaboration and feedback by integrating assignments with tools that support conversations and comments.

It's not so hard to mention the advantages it has on your life. For instance internet will provide for faster communication, entertainment and an unlimited resource of information. It all about how you handle internet. You can use and abuse it. You should always be careful for theft of personal information. Do some research before uploading pictures to a website, because there are always people who want to abuse it. The most obvious disadvantages if internet are social isolation and obesity.

The biggest problem with having the Internet is, its ability to create rifts between the real and virtual world. The virtual world can often seem so alluring that once hooked, going back to real life seems daunting.

There is an addiction for everything that pertains to the web and that includes excessive surfing, online gambling, social networking, and gaming addiction. These addictions create both physical as well as mental issues that can lead to health complications if left unattended. It is ironic that, while it is easy to find plenty of online support for these issues, the Internet itself can be a big cause or trigger for it.

The link between obesity and the Internet is rather easy to understand. The more one sits in front of the computer, the lesser one exercises.

No they won;t lose their authenticity. Authenticity concerns the truthfulness of origins, attributions, commitments, devotion, and intentions. If a handcrafted product is branded, nothing will change about the truthfulness of origins etc. It's all about how that specific product is marketed into the world which can influence the customers perception about it. In general it doesnt lose its authenticity.
