The issue with popular vote deciding elections is that it will ultimately come down to population dense areas, along with fractional vote percentages.

The EC has problems just the same; but if people want to replace it, it needs to be with something viable.

Nothing he's done since winning the election has really shown any confidence in the "shaking up Washington" angle, and I can't see how anyone else is at this point, beyond just turning a blind eye to things.

The environmental factors are almost entirely out of your control, at least as long as you're a youth (being born into a poor family v. being born into a wealthy family, and all the conditions that change from one to the other), so it's quite a stretch to argue that it's a choice because of them.
