You're kidding me right?! Bruce Lee would not only win the fight, he would DEMOLISH Jackie Chan. Bruce Lee is straight up kung-fu whereas Jackie Chan is more into pleasing his audience with cool stunts. Bruce Lee is the baddest of the bad and is totally kick ass! Side: Bruce Lee
I see your point. If the fight was in the open and relying exclusively on Kung Fu skills then something tells me Bruce would win the fight. But if the fight was in a wear-house full of stuff, then Jackie would probably utilize everything to his disposal and win. Bruce Lee took himself a lot more seriously and his insights on martial arts deserve a lot of respect. Jackie Chan on the other side does not take himself seriously and so he can be hilarious. Not just in movies. If you see interviews he's given on talk shows he is so funny. I still haven't made up my mind :o) Side: Bruce Lee
Looking back at their career and the movies they've both made, I would say that Bruce Lee has made some truly cult martial arts films (Game of Death, Enter the Dragon, Fist of Fury). When I see those movies today, they still are as powerful as when I first saw them, because they make me feel as if I am witnessing a great event, something that has a lot of thought and philosophy behind it. It's like watching a great master perform something awe inspiring. Jackie Chan's movies on the other hand, although still fun to watch, are more about adrenaline pumping action. For me his best movie is Drunken Master 2, because it encapsulates all the campness and craziness the actor brings to the screen, with some truly adrenaline pumping sequences. Overall though, he does not pretend to be a great martial arts master, so his movies don't take themselves very seriously. There is also a lot of overacting in his movies which makes them look a bit "tailored for children". On a private life level, Bruce Lee has undoubtedly pushed the boundaries a lot more on both physical fitness and philosophy. This was a man that tried a lot of things and examined a lot of ideas, and then came up with his own mix and gave it to the world. He was also the first oriental star in America, and broke the cliched image of the non-descript chinese characters portrayed in films before he arrived. Overall, Bruce Lee tried to be involved and excel in the broad spectrum of life. Jackie Chan on the other hand, has just focused on being a movie star and an entertainer. Like someone else said, he would probably be more fun as a friend than Bruce Lee. Overall though, my vote goes to Bruce Lee because he is a legend. Side: Bruce Lee
