It depends. If you want to debate or discuss the Bible, if you want be included in a group that believes and follows the Bible, or anything like that, it's a good idea to read it. And I think overall, knowing a book that influences a good portion of the world is good. It's also another thing you can add to a list of things you know about. Side: Yes

The King James version, as Richard Dawkins says, is the origin of hundreds of phrases and language part of our common lexicon, and to read it is to help educate yourself on some English literature. Also, you can't argue against religious people unless you know what their perspective is, hence reading their books. I wish they'd return the favour. Oh and, it's so much fun reading all the fucked up shit they think is morally perfect, I mean, in Genesis, you have Lot's daughters incestually raping him in a cave, then in Exodus you've got God murdering thousands of babies, it's brilliant. Oh, and the books of law are hilarious, where else can you find a moral guide that condones slavery and even gives you instructions on how to beat your slaves. Side: Yes
Yes it is worth reading reading the Bible because it brings wisdom, hope, comfort to all who read the Bible. Some people read the Bible just to find errors or use it for evil like people who are on this site they start quoting the Bible and not knowing what that verse means. Side: Yes
