People who overuse autotune are just compensating for the fact that they can't sing.

Absolutely!! It's been user-used to death and what was the final straw, for me, was the autotune used in the new Beauty and the Beast movie. If a person in a musical doesn't have the voice or strength to sing what's required of her, then get a different person, autotune is very distracting.

Unfortunately Mint, these things are no longer arts but businesses. The decisions made are based on what is best for the business rather than the art. I completely agree with you though.

For sure. Emma Watson....was that her name? Would have been a great Bell but her singing wasn't strong enough. I would have preferred if they had just had someone sing for her in that instance or got someone who could sing to play Bell, but instead they went with the business side, used her and did a very distracting autotune.

Side: Yes. It's great!
