Should smokers get lung transplants?

Yes, No matter what a "smoker" is a human being, and should have the same chances as a "non-smoker" if their condition is terminal. If any of you are pro life you should be able to understand, you wouldn't condemn an unborn child to death because their mother was not responsible enough to use protection...

Yes. Healthcare is a right. :)

Side: Yes

It would be discriminatory to refuse to give a smoker a lung transplant.

Side: Yes

No, because there is a lack of organs available for transplant- same reason heavy drinkers shouldn't get liver transplants. They don't deserve it, especially in Britain, where the NHS is free.

Smokers do not deserve lung transplants because they knew the consequences and still went on with it. Now, they face what they would always say,"i'll deal with it later". Now, they fight for those organs that they don't deserve while people who were born with disease can't get help for something they couldn't control.

No. They smoked, so they get what they deserved. If they give a lot of money then maybe they can buy one otherwise die early.

Nope you only get the lungs you have there are no lungs you can get transplanted and its the person's choice if they want to start smoking then soon start an addiction.

Ugh, no? I think that would be a no. They are the ones who made their lungs diseased because of smoking. I think there are other people who deserve that organ. Besides, what if they go back to smoking when they have a new lung..?

Not from the tax-payers wallet.

If they can afford to get their hands on a lung and have it transplanted, then sure.
