It's nice when things come together, which makes me wonder...If it' possible to have future sights whilst sleeping, then why wouldn't one be able to use the ability when awake? You have the same chemicals in your brain when awake, so If it's all just chemical reactions, then it should be usable when awake by triggering said chemical reactions...meh, we may never know.
Please share any ideas you might have that we can implement to get better debates for you to participate in.

Intangible, here is where we agree 100%. The site needs more intelligent members. There is not a sufficient number of them here...but here is the problem...
A new intelligent member joins the site and has one of three experiences:
1. Joins, sees some of the less intelligent banter and leaves (no long term new user)
2. Joins, sees a debate they like, gets attacked (often there are attacks vs. constructive debates), gets pissed and doesn't come back.
3. Joins, sees like minded individuals and ends up conversing with them not debating them.
The real question (and what i am searching for) is how do you keep those valuable members who sign up but leave for #1 or #2?
Well you need intelligent debaters to persuade other intelligent debaters. Even if some of the current users come up with good and topics, then you would still need people to carry out a discussion in an intelligent manner.
I'm not sure if there is any solution to those problems without almost completely altering the idea that the site is based upon, which seems to be casualness and debating, two substances that don't collaborate well, which in turn leaves it with a weak foundation for intelligent debaters to walk upon. The way the site is set up allows too much room for social stigma, another thing which is unneeded in a debating atmosphere.
Yes, I think you are right. The site is not designed around firmly structured debating. It is designed around social debating which allows members more flexibility in their responses (both formal and informal). Therefore, it may seem like there are few intelligent debaters, when in reality those are mutually exclusive. You can have intelligent debaters debating about less formal topics.
I wonder if there is a situation where this is acceptable and people and the site are not judged for something they are not trying to be?

Well being intelligent is something special. What you are meaning to say is that everyone has some type of intelligence. Having intelligence in one thing would only make you somewhat intelligent/ averagely intelligent, but not all around intelligent.

You're not understanding the definitions. People are classified as either "not intelligent", averagely intelligent, somewhat intelligent, then intelligent and then onward. The word "intelligent" alone can definitely be defined as "Having the capabilities to be versatile in many situations."
So you can't say everyone is intelligent, because not everyone is very versatile in many situations.

Did i strike a nerve...? The point of debate is to come to a bigger and better conclusion. To draw two perceptions, and have them coincide with one another. It's to enlighten one's knowledge. If You're debating to say, "i'm right and your wrong" than i suggest you look up what arguing is. You might have the two confused.

It's simple. A discussion, with opposing sides whom exchange arguments, in a attempt to refute the opposition's premise or convince the opposition to agree with the other side.
It's not always about coming to a bigger conclusion and whatever else that mess is that you've submitted.

True. The recurring users bring more shit to the site rather than real debates, but that doesn't mean there won't be any other interesting debates in the future. Most of the topics are just repeats and things with simple conclusions, which is why I don't take them seriously. If you want serious and better debates, then debate.org is wur it's at. *
True there could be some in the future, but that could take awhile. Some real debaters are on here but not many, I stay on cuz there could be some real debates and debaters, but got to really look.
