Bicycles Are Better Transport Means Than Cars
More and more bicycle riders can be seen on the streets, and I really want to know what is the reason for it. Is that because of world economy going down, because people want to make a contribution to save the planet or because bicycles are just better??

It may be healthier and better for the environment to ride a bicycle than drive a car, but when solely being looked at as a means of transportation, the car must win. One cannot go too far on a bicycle, and the rider will most likely feel quite exhausted once he has arrived. In adverse weather riding a bicycle can be far more dangerous, and the exposure to the elements when bike riding can be lethal. Side: Cars
I agree that not everyone can go very far by bicycle, but there are many examples of travellers who visited different countries and crossed the continent using a bike. And you can not drive the car for a long time, too. You are right, weather means a lot when riding a bicycle, but climatic conditions are very important when driving a car, too. That's why there are some snow days during the winter because cars are sensitive to weather, too. Side: Bicycles

Yeah, in a couple of months. If it takes you 45 minutes to drive to work, then taking a bike'll set you back by a couple of hours. And you can not drive the car for a long time, too. You can drive a car until it shall move no more. You are right, weather means a lot when riding a bicycle, but climatic conditions are very important when driving a car, too. But it isn't impossible to drive a car in three inch snow in -5 degree weather; you'd be likely to be bit by frost if you tried to ride a bike in that. Likewise, if it is too hot out, you can have a heat stroke. That's why there are some snow days during the winter because cars are sensitive to weather, too. No, there are "snow days" to prevent students from being injured on their way to school. Side: Cars

Cars can house families and transport them across entire continents within weeks (instead of months by foot) without working themselves nearly to death. What the fuck can bikes? Make you healthier? Right, because a salad and mile walk once a day won't do that at all. Side: Cars
