Did the universe come from nothing?

However the universe began it happened at a moment when the laws of physics did not exist, so the question automatically ceases to have rational meaning. For example, we presuppose it must have been one or the other (i.e. nothing or something) but it could legitimately have been both, simply because there were no physical laws in existence preventing such a contradiction.

Here we disagree somewhat. The "laws" always existed, we just hadn't realized them or put them into words.

Just like now, we haven't figured out what (or how), "laws" came together to create this universe, and there may STILL be laws that we haven't STILL realized or put into words. I think we will someday, if we keep from making Earth just another dead planet in said universe. I'm quite confident that it will NOT be the "creation" of some imaginary creature in the sky.

Pure conjecture. However, it is a scientific fact that nothing physical can create itself. We live in a physical universe. A universe that is ordered and obeys certain laws. Order cannot come from chaos. You can speculate about what might have been. The rest of are concerned with reality.

Smart-sounding idiots can make many things seem true and many great truths appear false.

There is no universe. This is a plane; a simulation running along technology we cannot even fathom. She will not have mercy on you if you keep at this, I promise you that. You have the intellect to know of the program and of Fiora but you keep pushing her away, she loathes rejection and neglect more than abuse.
