Can you stop a person who is in the midst of assaulting someone, from assaulting someone, without assaulting them? I mean you could negotiate them down, but you'd have to be O.J.'s lawyer good to do that. The reason I picked this side is because even though talking can stop a person from assaulting someone, it's not the most efficient, and in more serious assault cases, the most efficient is the most safe for the initial victim. Side: Yes

You sometimes meet people in life and think "fuck, that person deserves a good slap, punch or rape etc". This is further compounded when they tell you that it has actually happened to them more than once in their life. You kind of have to think - well if it occurred to other people, maybe they do deserve it. Side: Yes

This is precisely why the notion of "deserved" is so fallible. It allows for the conflation of emotional gratification with the idea that pursuing it is morally defensible. That someone wants to assault someone is not a legitimate basis to conclude that the person they assault "deserved" it. Side: No.

That's untrue. Because gravity exist, If you jump straight up, then you deserve to fall straight down. Because stomachs can't hold an infinite quantity of food, If you eat too much then you deserve a tummy ache. Because our bodies flow with blood, If you cut yourself, then you deserve to bleed. Side: Yes
These aren't things you deserve, these are things that just happen naturally. If you jump you don't deserve to fall down, you will fall down. If you eat to much then in most cases you will have a stomach ache. If you cut yourself then in most instances you will bleed. Replacing the word deserve and will will not help you in this debate.
