I am reading it at the moment and I have to admit, it is a bit peculiar in places, even though it never fails to amuse me.

I like the part where god kills everyone.

And destroys villages. And transfigures people into salt blocks. Why salt? Who knows.

Side: Old

Why salt?

The animals needed a salt lick ;)

Why do you like the part where God kills everyone?

They're both bullshit but the old is closer to the truth! God is a badass and he will F you up if you don't believe

The Old Testament was the things to come regarding the coming of the Messiah and the God's second coming.

God will still mess you up in the Old Testament you will only die once and in the New Testament , you will die twice because if you were in the Old Testament times you would go to hell. In the New Testament if you don't believe you will still go to hell and then when He comes back to establish His kingdom, He will throw hell into the Lake of Fire which is the Second Death.

well thats the most ridiculous shit i've ever heard----------------

Side: Old

Much more entertaining to read the old stuff. Both are packed with copied fables and practically plagiarized messages, but if I have to read some trite trash I'd like a little violence and drama thrown in.

Side: Old

And don't forget the sex... ;)

Side: Old

I did, thanks for reminding me. Unfortunately the drugs and rock and roll are all NT.

Side: Old

It's way more conservative than the new testament ;)

Jews are the ones who believe in the old testamente.

I'm a christian, therefore my beliefs are in the new one.

But if I have to think .. like what is more interesting to read, the old testamente has way better stories.

I love love love the story about Esther, and have read it like.. a hundred times since I was very little

Ruth, Moses, Noah, Samson, Saul, Jonah, Josva.. I love those stories.

(If I spelled some of the names wrong, remember english is not my main language, so the names are probably different than in the english bible)

Most Christians believe in the New Testament then the Old. The only thing we follow in the Old Testament is the Ten Commandments but most Modern day Christians would like New better then Old.

"Jews are the ones who believe in the Old Testament"

Christianity is based upon Judaism. Jesus was Jewish as a child. Therefore Christians believe in both - I don't think Jews believe in the new one, but Christians believe in both.

You may not, and I don't know if you are Jewish, or you just prefer the New Testament, but Christians believe in both.

I am currently reading the Old Testament and I have to say some of it is so ridiculous and to me, the message of 'do good things or I will punish you!' seems to crop up quite a bit.

I have read some of the New Testament though as well, and I think that although it is perhaps more morally accurate, I think that makes it a bit boring, too. A story is much more exciting when there is a lot of action.

The Old Testament contains the Book of the Maccabees I and II. These are some of the most heroic stories ever known in history. Most people don't know this, but without the Maccabees there would have been no Christianity and we would all be worshiping Zeus and his son Apollo.

Now I know where to point blame.

Maybe you would.

I like the New Testament better because Jesus Christ came down to earth to save us from our sins and died on the cross and rose again from the grave. Without the resurrection are teachings would be worthless and our worship to God would be delusional.

You're absolutely right there. Delusional.................

The New Testament teaches love and to turn the other cheek and praises the peacemakers.
