Poor people today do not appreciate the education they are getting already which is K-12. Statistics show that most drop outs are from "lower classes"... So what difference would it make if they couldn't afford education anymore. They don't want it anyway.
Teachers are grossly underpaid for the work they do. First they have to have a college degree and pay for that debt just like a doctor or a lawyer... Next they have to constantly take courses and tests to keep up with what's going on. They have to plan lessons, grade papers, babysit rotten kids who don't appreciate the education they are getting and are completely disrespectful, and teachers have to deal with parents who don't have a clue but expect their children to pass even when they don't deserve it. Yes yes yes, pay teachers more, or close the freakin schools down.
So you are saying that France and Canada have less effective healthcare...
perhaps....I've never had healthcare there so I can't say.... however, at least EVERYONE gets to see a doctor. You talk about effectiveness, but you're only talking about the rich people who have insurance. Us poor slobs without insurance sure don't think that healthcare in America is very effective.
I for one do not want a surgeon who is about to operate on me being stoned. Nor do I want the construction workers working on the road with all that heavy equipment and trucks being stoned. There are some jobs that do have a right to know if their employees do illegal drugs because it's a safety issue.
As for the welfare drug testing, why should taxpayers pay for a drug addict's habit?
If people were to actually look at where our money is spent, they would see that socialized healthcare is possible. If we (America) are going to continually claim to be the most wonderful nation in the world, we need to take better care of our citizens. Stop spending on wars in other countries, and heal the sick right here.
