Most religion was created, because years ago people wanted answers to things like, why do we have seasons. They created gods to answer these questions because they didn't understand the science behind it.

Chritianity (including Chrisidelphian-ity if that is a word) is based of fact, belief and experience, and was created by Jesus to give people hope instead of eternal death in hell after life on Earth.

Religion (Chrisianity included) is merely beliefs people have to give them hope, security and answers, which gives reasurance. People though have twisted religion, thinking it makes them holy, and killing people for it.

The bible states "love your enimies" and "do to others as you wish to be done to yourself." Religion gives hope and reasurance and makes the world a brighter place.

Unless idiots twist it into an evil mess.

If praying worked like you want, you would be even more of a spoilt brat. Don't you think God created people because he DIDN'T want to fill the earth with idiots like yourself?

2 points

Why the hell do you need to know how to build kiichen cabinets when the bibole tells you how to escape eternal hell, torture, death?

3 points

Where is your proof? You cannot make these FALSE claims with out proof.

"unforgiving". God sent his only son to go through the ,ost HORRIFIC TORTURE AND DEATH KNOW IN HISTORY to save us from our sin and therefore ETERNAL DEATH and you say he is unforgiving! He forgave us by sending his own FLESH AND BLOOD to die inhumainly to FORGIVE US! you are the sick-minded, selfish, uncaring, ungracious, un-everything god on this planet, person I have ever known or heard of. and you are the only person so far I can actually hate with a passion. I hope you feel proud.

God is a god of love, and he loves us so much that he gave us freedom. We are not robots. If we were robots then we would not love, hate, experience happiness, joy, depression or fear. If God jumped in everytime someone was about to die in a carcrash, everyone would drive at a million miles an hour in the middle of the road! If he stopped our actions having consiquences, he would be stripping us of free will, total freedom and turning us into robots.

I know that this is gonna sound stupid and blaspheming, and wrong, but being christian is loving and having a realtionship with the God and jesus. no I do not mean, snogging, sexy love, but the type in the bibloe, unconditional, self sacrificial love. the "love is patient, love is kind..." type of love. Also believing in God is kinda vital!

Just because the interpritations are not true, dosn't mean the actual original bible is

If a fish evolved into an amphibian into a reptile into a bird into a mammal, there would be loads of inbetween animals, like birds-repltiles with wings too weak to fly with. There are no follisils, bones, or any proof of these, so where did they disappear to?

2 points

Here is proof there has to be a god - or a totally independant being if you are really stingy.

Everything in this universe is winding down. Everything - everything is dependant on something else. We are dependant on Earth and the axel tilt, orbit, blah blah blah, so there has to be something (someONE acording to believers) in the centre of it all, dependant on nothing - totally independant, or the whole universe would collapse in on it's self. why hasn't it? Because there is a god.

1 point

Who cares about tradition. That tradition was only established because women were considered the man's possesion

1 point

Well der. how do you achieve anything without fighting for it?! fighting does not nessisarily mean bang bang your dead fifty bullets in your head, bombs explosions and destruction. I am fighting now. Debating is a verbal war if you think about it!

Blue might be her favorite colour but might not be her colour in sense of what suits her or not. Besides being so "I want BLUE i t is ny faaave colour it rox your sox off!" is so sad, and a man doing that is more confusing thatn a woman chosing the colour that suits her best over her favorite colour.

I also hardley think the preacher would say "SHIT" if he was a preacher

The entire universe is dependant on something else. We are dependant on Earth, sun, gravity etc... the sun is dependant on a ballance between gravity and expolding atoms. So, in the center, is a totally independant, self-dependant being God. Everything is winding down. Everything needs something else. If God didn't exist, and the big bang, or "gravity and a lot of space gunk" happened, where would the two thing that collided, or all that space gunk have come from anyway? I fyou say it was there since eternity, then how can you say God wasn't?!?!?!?!

To be alone and to be lonley are tweo different things, OK, but even if you fill up your time you can still be lonley. lONLEY IS where you feel alone. no matter what you do there will still be an empty space in your heart.

1 point

OK, so you don't nesisarily have to be alone to be lonley.

Sycalogical stastisctics show that people that have other people around them to support do better. You need people around you for every thing. I would rather be lonley because if you are alone that is just - horrible. Besides, if you are christian you are never alone or lonley.

Hydro-electric definatley. Wind power takes up too much room. 66.66666666% of our planet is water, why not use the water. It makes no noise. It does not look ugly.

I think that people who are praying at the moment might as well pray to a carten of milk

I think that you have no right to say that to people. I just showed this argument to my mates and we are offended beyond belief.

Think about it, saying your prayers at night or asking god for something will not cause that thing to happen. example: you wish to win the lottery. God is not a force that will make this happen

No one said that would happen. If God exists (which he does) then everything has a perpose. For example: Someone died in hospital and a woman held his toes and cried out "GOD HEAL THIS MAN" - prayer. The heart beat detector thingy started bleeping again. Not only proof of God, but proof that prayer works.

OK then, if you think that school uniform shouldn't be abolished, read this: Madame Chair, Ladies of opposition, Judges and Ladies of the floor, I am Lori and I belive that school uniform should be abolished. My colleagues and I (Rhiannon and Beth) will talk on Comfort, Creativity and Cost. I myself shall talk about creativity, individuality and formality.

Firstly, I shall talk about the school curriculum. OK, so there are the core subjects like Maths and Science which everyone has to do? But why do they teach us English, Art, D&T;? Because they want us to grow not only in knowledge and intelligence but creativity! Does our uniform help us to grow in knowledge, NO! Then it may as well help us grow in creativity!

Then we come to formality. Why do we wear school uniform? To look smart. But do we really look smart in school uniform? Unknown no. out of the 81 girls we surveyed said that they thought it was smart. Yes Ladies, ONE girl. So what makes it look smart, the polo shirts, and the pleated skirts? Polo shirts which some girls choose to wear as a casual garment outside of school. Polo shirts with fluff clinging to them? Pleated skirts which are being constantly being pulled up, trousers as tight as skinny jeans. I thought our school was meant to be known for its enthusiasm and friendships, but what looks enthusiastic about girls trudging along with matching clothes, socks and hair accessories. The only item of clothing not restricted by the regulation rules is underwear, and how long do we have before navy knickers become regulation? Our school uniform is not smart, it certainly wasn’t practically designed for the unpredictable and constant change in our English climate, and it is despised and loathed by all students. Anything that was formal in our school uniform has been wiped out by students. Why do they do it? Isn’t it evident that our fellow students our crying out for help.

My next point is still on the subject of formality. Firstly, when I was researching this topic, I typed the word formal into thesaurus.com. Some of the synonyms were decorous, nominal, and the Antonyms were unaffected and relaxed. Isn’t that what our students want to be, unaffected and relaxed? Besides, if a child is not unaffected, isn’t her schoolwork at great risk?

Now, my next point is the long-term damage of forcing school uniform upon innocent students. What is the point in school? To prepare us for the world.

SCHOOL uniform should be banned because little kids DON'T look cute!!!!!!!!!!!!

But WHEN THEY WEAR dresses THEY look GORGEOUS!!!!!!!

Different countries are famous for different things. China for it's culture, France and Italy their food, America it's hugeness, England it's smallness in comparison to it's influence (England Rox). If one person or group of people took over the whole world, we'd all be the same. We'd have the same goverments, and if that person was evil enough to strip each countries individuality like that wouldn't have to much of a sense of human rights or stuff, huh? But then if everyone rebbelled against them (which would be unavoidable) then there would be too much unnessisary blood shed.

1 point

It really depends on who you are. If you have been brought up in a culture where you are not allowed to eat meat, then it wouldn't be fair of people to say that it isn't the right thing to do. Or if your religion says you can't eat meat. Being Vegetarian is the right thing to do if you are eating sufficient protein and still being healthy.

"Nature made these things, not god" - INCORRECT!!!!!!!!!!

What I hate is, in a science lesson when children ask things like "Miss, who created water?" and the answer is "It was a chemical reaction which occurred during the big bang." The big bang did not happen. God created the world. Saying that a collision created life, emotion, death, has the probability of a metal factory exploding and creating a BMW with leather seats and an extra big boot. Look at the complexity of the human body. The talent, emotion, power to think, look at the nervous system, the skeleton. Open the curtains and look out side. If you see a rural setting, don't tell me God didn't create that, if you see an urban landscape, don't tell me the big bang created people with the ability to design and create buildings and the materials to make them. and the factories to make the materials, and the materials to make the factories etc...

Just face the facts, Nature did NOT make these things, GOD DID!

If you say Yes, then you could down mark people for using correct foreign grammar, but it was grammatically incorrect in English. A perfectly good argument would be marked poorly just because the debater is not English.

1 point

It is totally unfair to do that. Arguments should be based on how well you rebuttle, on your points, logic and reasoning. Many famous people are dylexic or bad in grammar. Loads of the best arguments I've read have had spelling mistakes! If you are judging an argument, you should judge what they are arguing. Content not grammar or spelling.

(Well, if the spelling and grammar is so bad it is impossible to read, you wouldn't mark it, would you?)

It is utterly unfair to force someone to remove a turban. They could wear it for religious reasons. Just because we do not agree with that religion, doesn't mean that we should stop wearing a turban. We should respect religion and religious tradition.

It could be to do with fashion or style. Why should us westerners stop people living in the east wear a turban! That would be like banning jeans. It would be unfair, unnecessary, stupid and arouse many rebellions.

Who reading this debate loves animals? Who loves foxes? Who likes foxhunting, the slaughter of inocent creatures for fun? No one. The Tories will bring back foxhunting in england.

What good have they done for us?

My uncle was a labour candidate in Engalnd.

I may have been brought up to support labour, but I still would rather have a hung parliment than a conservative one.

Children are the most important part of society. They are our future. They will be england.

So if they are going to eventually run the country, and we don't want our countries to be run by tramps, we need to grab their inteligence and expand it. What is the best way to do this?

School.

School is a place where you learn many subjects. If people had tutors, there wouldn't be engough to go round. School is a place to build relationships and grow not only in academic strenght, but also it social strength.

People argue against you, to help you develop ideas. People can inspire you. The best part of the school is the people in it and we wouldn't be as amazing as we are without it.

I wouldn't be writting this now because I wouldn't be able to read or write. I wouldn't know HOW to debate. Without school we'd all have minus reward points!

School is for the children.

Who says we'd be fighting against terrorism? If England were being attacked we'd give it all we've got, and the best we've got is neclear. Also, whoever started the WW3 must be evil or cold-hearted so if they use nuclear, nobody else would stand a chance if we didn't.

2 points

Yes it should, and my first point is Style. Nowadays, in the 21st century environment that we live in, society is based around style. Not just what you wear, but how you wear it, not just what you do, but how you go about it. Fashion is a way for young people to express themselves. Choosing what you wear is like giving the finishing touches, the final details to an amazing piece of art, that part of your appearance that really says who you are. I don’t know about you, but what I really love to see is happiness, and what a better example of this amazing emotion, than watching little kids dancing round in princess dresses or flowery trousers and purple sequin shoes? What pain and depression it must cause for a mother to have to take those off her child, and put on a dull uniform, making her child, HER UNIQUE CHILD look as alike as the other children she can barley recognise her.

Then we come to cost. Living in the credit crunch, I know that is has been such a struggle to pay for, not only new polo shirts, skirts, trousers, the list goes on, but a PE kit! A girl I know has had to buy THREE new uniforms so far and some people have to get even more! My uniform cost me £ and all I got for that £ was .Not only that, but I’ve had to get wellingtons, shoes, a regulation coat and scarf! Even new regulation hair bobbles and socks. This is an outrageous waste of money! Yes, the opposition may say that normal clothes cost more, but if a parent can monitor the cash we spend on school uniform, of course they would do the same for ordinary clothes! Besides, even if you did spend more money, at least it would buy you comfort. Who doesn’t freeze in winter, and sweat in summer like normal humans? Whoever doesn’t feel the English change of weather can’t be human! Some people get rashes from scratchy polo shirts.

One more reason is formality. School uniform was invented to make us all look neat and tidy. But does it? Despite various random checks, skirts are shrinking, trousers becoming tighter, make-up and jewellery is being worn, and why? Isn’t it obvious that this is our fellow students crying out? They don’t want uniform. They don’t want scratchy polo shirts. What is neat anyway about a sweating pupil with fluff clinging to their t-shirt from the jumpers? Who wants to see a school full of kids looking miserably at their uniforms? No one. Besides, if children are spending money on appropriate clothing for school, it could influence what they buy for leisure time!

Then there is time. Most people take ages to get changes, choose what they want to wear ect ect... so, if children are already in clothes that are not for school, why bother changing? If not, you would have to change from your pyjamas, into your uniform, out of your uniform, into normal clothes, and if your club has a uniform, or you are going to a concert, you change from your normal clothes into those, then, finally, into your pyjamas again. Why have these hassles? Homework itself eats up time, and everyone knows about that, but did anyone think that school uniform would?

School uniform is a ridiculously unaffordable, informal, time wasting part of our school life which strips away individuality and should be abolished.

Thank you

I always win, and if not, I battle to the death until I do. You can only tag your argument "you" if you are not me because if I win (which I will) you lose!

0 points

Me of course! If there is any reason why not I will battle until the end and only admit defeat to God when I die. Obviously, seeing as I have not battled to the death in a debate and lost (I AM alive if you haven't noticed!) then I am not going to start losing them now! The only reason my form lost a debate was because I wasn't on the team - I was ill! Even if I lose this debate, I have still won it so THERE!

Lib Dem are joining with Tory which is just stupid!

Tory want us to be completely seperate from the EU, and Lib Dem want us to change to the Euro. It was stupid of the Lib Dems and they are never going to agree on ANYTHING!

3 points

Labour most defiantly! Most people's reasons for saying Tory is that Labour put us in the recession, but if we had a conservative goverment, their proposed tax cuts for millionaires would have made it so much worse! They will take the cap off uni fees! Both reasons give the ohnly reason they exist. To Conserve their rich friends. Who wants to be seperate form the EU? Who wants to bring back fox hunting? No one!

1 point

I don't really support either! As a christian I believe that when you die, God chooses if you go to heaven or hell. Yeah, so we suffer on earth, but if we believe and follow the Truth - God - then, voila! we go to heaven, but if not, we go to Hell and face pain and fire and, well, hell! I'm not an agnostic, but that is waht I believe. There isn't really any proof for or against my reasoning, do I could be right, but who knows until you die?

5 points

Why doesn't anybody on Create Debate believe in God?! There is the pocketwatch theory, Creation, millions of people who have a relationship with him who aren't hallucinating! How else was the world made?

1 point

You want to know what the trinity is? God is a being who is omnipresent, all powerful and all knowing. Most people say that the trinity is "the God head, three in one". But how? Basically, he is one god reprisented as three. The Father (God the creater and everyone's spirital Dad), the Spirit (the part of him that tries to make us more like him and "lives" in our hearts) and the Son (Jesus, God in flesh who lived on earth and now lives in heaven). So that is Jesus and the trinity sorted. What about Christianity? As a christian (AOG pentecost), I believe that Christianity isn't a set of rules or beliefs, but a relationship with God and Jesus. "No, I am not religious, I do not belong to a religion." I explain to people, "Christianity is about You-and-God. A reltionship, saying that you are a christian just makes it official.

1 point

Let me get this straight before I begin. God is beyond anyone's imagination. He always was and always will be.

The whloe universe is winding down. Why? I t depends on something else. Everything in this world must be dependant on something, which means there must be something or someONE who is dependant on nothing but itself. God. How could he have a creater? and if so, that person, presence, spirt, god, whatever you want to call it, would have to be more powerful, and would be called God

Also, God created everything. Time is a thing right, and if God created everYTHING, He created time. So he must have come before time, and that is my reason as to haw God always has been and always will be. He has no creator. End of.

1 point

It is because of the melanin in your skin. People have evloved and grown darker. But whoever says that God doesn't exist is totaly wrong! Who says that God created white people anyway? The bible doesn't actually say that Adam and Eve were white!

5 points

Well, being a christian, yeah. He's been experienced by loads of people, and I have loads of other proof, but I don't have timne to write it all down!
