Socialist Paradise:British National Health Service Cancels 50,000 Surgeries
In a stunning move the British National Health Service which operates the government-run medical system ordered the cancellation of over 50,000 “non-urgent” surgeries in every hospital across England leaving sick patients in limbo as they wait for procedures. The order came on Tuesday, as hospitals dealt with large crowds stemming from a winter outbreak of the flu. Some patients were forced to wait 12 hours standing in the corridors as seating areas became overwhelmed. British Prime Minister Theresa May offered an apology on Thursday during an interview with Sky News. "I know it's difficult, I know it's frustrating, I know it's disappointing for people and I apologize," she said as she visited patients at a London hospital. The NHS offers "Free Government-Run Health Care" to British citizens making up about a third of England’s budget. Unfortunately, this move has caused the health care quality to drop in recent years.
One doctor described treating patients with "battlefield medicine," while others have said that the hospitals face "third world conditions” as the medical staff became overwhelmed with patients coming in with flu-type symptoms.
Since Britain initiated a government-run health care system the overall quality has steadily dropped even as leftist politicians propose similar systems for the United States.
As sick patients wait for a diagnosis from their physician, they may find themselves on the receiving end of a cancellation instead of a treatment to cure their ailments.
"British Single Payer" system is not quite the Socialist Paradise as the Leftist dream it should be !

Theresa May's conservative government simply won't throw £billions into the bottomless pit of the National Health Service as they liken such a measure to throwing raisins to an elephant. A blind man on a galloping horse could have seen this coming from a mile off but the prevailing P.C. brigade and E.U., liberals in Brussels make the publishing of the true cost to the nation impossible. If and when a true left wing government is elected in Britain we'll see the National Health Service improving through unaffordable irresponsible borrowing and a reduction in the nations self defense budget. They won't increase spending because they want the NHS to collapse. It's more profitable for them that way. Why do we need to spend £45.4 billion on something which doesn't affect the lives of the average Briton? All we need is to lower that budget down to £40 billion and give the surplus funding to the NHS, and it'll be adequately funded. No borrowing required. When the conservative government was returned to power they introduced so called austerity ( or in other words- living within one's means) and were immediately accused of cold blooded heartlessness by the very left wingers who had brought Britain to it's knees in the first place. Oh look the same story ive seen parroted on at least a dozen right wing news sites. What they dont tell you is this same health crisis is taking place all over the world including right here in the US. This year's flu has been especially contagious and is especially resistant to immunization. Thus the health impact has been much worse. People are being turned away from ERs for non-urgent care right now. The UK has a high elderly population compared to the US which has made this flu season even worse on their ERs. As a result they moved back 50,000 NON URGENT surgeries so they can deal with the more pressing health emergencies first. This is just common sense. You have a ton of people who need care and cannot wait. And you have some people who do not need care right away and can wait. Who do you treat first? Every healthcare system on earth rations care. Every healthcare system on earth prioritizes care and resources to some people over others. This is not some unique thing to socialized medicine. The difference between our system and theirs is their system prioritizes care based off of need. Ours prioritizes care based off of the size of your wallet. Hence why 20,000+ people die annually due to lack of care in the us. 1

Thats an argument for creating a more accountable government with transparency and good elected officials. Not an argument against single payer healthcare. If the only argument against single payer is that you dont trust your elected officials enough to do it, then you need to elect some better officials so you can do it. Not just give up on it 1

Government run health care is just window dressing by the Democrats. It's all about Government control of everyday people's lives. Read what Paul Gallagher wrote about the NHS in 2015. The UK has one of the worst healthcare systems in the developed world according to a damning new report which said the nation has an “outstandingly poor” record of preventing ill health. Britain was placed on a par with Chile and Poland as countries still lagging behind the best performers in survival following diagnosis for different types of cancer. The UK came 21st out of 23 countries on cervical cancer survival, 20th out of 23 countries on breast and bowel cancer survival and 19th out of 31 countries on stroke. From the moment people in Britain start work their tax includes 'national Insurance Contributions, N.I.C.,which includes the funding of health care and social services such as unemployment benefits. Yes, you're correct, Brits do pay for their health care but, encouraged by successive governments,have been labouring under the misapprehension that it is free. Like most government managed institutions Britain's wasteful National Health Service is the epitome of slovenly inefficiency and offers the worst of both worlds. This money sponge offers poor value for money and wholly inadequate patient treatment and care. What needs to happen, but for political reasons, will never will, is that the N.H.S., be partially privatised and, apart from accident & emergency admissions, a system of means testing of all patients. In most cases the sick visit their doctor or hospital almost apologetically as they feel that the treatment they are receiving, or hope to receive is free, whereas they've been paying towards it all their working lives. 1
